DRIFTING KEYBOARD
A keyboard entry system for use in a touch screen display in which a user touches the display to move a keyboard on the display. The user moves the keyboard until a desired key lies under a fixed cursor. To type the key, the user lifts his finger.
Capacitive sensing with interpolating force-sensitive resistor array
An combination interpolating force sensitive resistor (IFSR) array touch sensor and capacitive touch sensor, or a modified IFSR sensor, is configured to detect touches resistively and capacitvely. By comparing resistive and capacitive signals, touches may be accurately characterized. The IFSR array may also be used in conjunction with an active stylus to determine a position of the active stylus relative to the IFSR array.
METHOD OF PROVIDING HANDWRITING STYLE CORRECTION FUNCTION AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE ADAPTED THERETO
A method of providing a handwriting style correction function and an electronic device adapted to the method are provided. The electronic device includes: a touch screen; a processor electrically connected to the touch screen; and a memory electrically connected to the processor. The memory stores instructions which, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to perform operations comprising: displaying at least one reference character on the touch screen; receiving a touch gesture via the touch screen; displaying a track of the received touch gesture on the touch screen; recognizing the track of the touch gesture as at least one input character corresponding to at least one reference character; identifying at least one reference character and at least one input character, as at least one stroke, based on a preset standard; comparing corresponding strokes of at least one reference character with at least one input character, and determining errors by strokes; and summing the errors by strokes of each of at least one reference character, and determining errors by characters.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR TRANSFORMING A FACIAL IMAGE INTO A SET OF RECOGNIZABLE EMOTICONS
A set of recognizable custom emoticons representing a subject's face are created and can be used in electronic communications as conventional emoticons are used. A set of unique emoticons are derived from a single digital true image of a subject's face such that others familiar with the subject are likely to recognize each emoticon in the set as representing the subject. The subject's true facial image is modified to reflect the cartoonish style of emoticons. Optionally some facial features are replaced to create a set of emoticons each having distinct facial expressions, for example, sad, happy, surprised, frightened. Optionally other features, for example, glasses, hats, facial hair, can be added to enhance the emoticons. The resultant set of emoticons is then made available to be sent and received on all communication mediums where emoticons are currently used.
Phonetic keyboards
The present invention is directed to a system and method for typing phonetic characters using two keystrokes. An aspect of the invention relates to the rendering of characters is based on the timing between a first and second keystroke if a second modifying keystroke is used, or based on a first keystroke. The method may be used on computer devices, cellular devices, other devices (including, but not limited to tablets), and other abbreviated and non-abbreviated keyboards, whether actual or virtual.
METHOD AND DEVICE PROVIDING MULTIMODAL INPUT MECHANISM
Conventional input mechanisms available are built considering majority users but face usability and security challenge when used by special users or when used in challenging environments. Embodiments herein provide a method and device for multimodal input mechanism. The device is preconfigured for a plurality of modalities and provides an option to a user to select an input modality pair for entering a sequence of characters into the device. A first modality among the pair enables selection of a character set among a plurality of character sets and the second modality enables selecting a character from the selected character set. The plurality of modalities comprise a touch mode defined by a set of touch based gestures, a motion keyboard mode defined by a set of device tilt based gestures, an air gesture mode defined by a set of virtual gestures and a voice mode defined by a set of voice commands. The input modality pair from among the plurality of input modalities is selected by the user based on physical constraints of the user and environmental constraints posed by an environment around the device.
Products and processes for providing force sensations in a user interface
Products and processes for providing haptic feedback in a user interface device are disclosed. In one exemplary embodiment, a process comprises defining a first cell, mapping a first location of a matrix with the defined first cell, and mapping a second location of the matrix with the defined first cell. The first cell comprises a first parameter representing a first haptic effect.
Keystroke analysis
A system, method and device for detecting keystroke entries in a field entered by keyboard in connection with an online transaction that may be fraudulent or erroneous. A score can be assigned to a keystroke based upon its distance from another keystroke. The scores of keystrokes in a string can be summed to obtain a string score. The string score can be normalized by dividing the string score by the number of keystrokes summed to obtain the normalized string score. A risk of fraud or error can be determined based upon the value of the normalized string score in comparison to a predetermined value.
METHOD FOR IMPLEMENTING CONTROL OF KEYS OF VIRTUAL KEYBOARD ON WIDE TOUCH SCREEN WITH TWO THUMBS
The present invention discloses a method for implementing control of keys of a virtual keyboard on a touch screen with two thumbs including conventional technical processes of arranging keys on a preset virtual keyboard according to a key layout and setting, and displaying the preset virtual keyboard and the keys on the touch screen according to the key arrangement of the preset virtual keyboard and corresponding setting and parameters. In this way, without changing the key layout of the preset virtual keyboard, the key position setting, and the current width of the virtual keyboard determined according to the current screen width, when the preset virtual keyboard is displayed and runs on the wide touch screen, the keys are at positions touchable by both thumbs of an operator.
METHOD FOR CONTROLLING OPERATIONS OF AN ELECTRONIC DEVICE THROUGH AMBIENT LIGHT DETECTION, AND ASSOCIATED APPARATUS
A method for controlling operations of an electronic device through ambient light detection and associated apparatus are provided, where the method includes: utilizing an ambient light sensor of the electronic device to detect ambient light for the electronic device, to generate an ambient light detection signal, sampling the ambient light detection signal to convert the ambient light detection signal into a converted signal, and performing pattern detection on the converted signal to detect at least one pattern of the converted signal; and according to a pattern and event database, determining whether the detected pattern of the converted signal matches a predetermined pattern within a plurality of predetermined patterns, to selectively trigger a predetermined operation associated with the predetermined pattern, wherein the pattern and event database stores the plurality of predetermined patterns.
