COMBINING ELECTROPERMANENT MAGNETS AND MAGNETORHEOLOGICAL FLUID TO MODIFY AN OPERATION OF AN INPUT DEVICE
Aspects of the invention include a computer peripheral device comprising an input element that operates based on a performance characteristic, an electropermanent magnet (EPM) assembly including a permanent magnet configured to generate a magnetic field and a magnetizing assembly configured to set an intensity of the magnetic field generated by the permanent magnet, and a magnetorheological (MR) material coupled to the input element. The MR material has a viscosity that changes based on the magnetic field and affects the performance characteristic of the input element.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ADAPTING AUDITORY BIOFEEDBACK CUES AND GAIT ANALYSIS USING WIRELESS SIGNALS AND DIGITAL RESPONSES
A method for adapting auditory biofeedback cues to adjust a user's gait includes receiving a series of respective first signals from each sensor of an integrated sensor system and converting the series of respective first signals into a series of respective second signals. Each respective second signal within the series of respective second signals can be quantized as an audio biofeedback cue and modified so the timing of each respective second signal is aligned to a pre-selected temporal or musical grid. The user's gait is then analyzed as a function of the audio biofeedback cues and the pre-selected temporal or musical grid can be adapted to adjust entrainment of the user's gait.
WEARABLE FOOT CONTROLLER FOR SURGICAL EQUIPMENT AND RELATED METHODS
A wearable foot controller for a surgical instrument may include a body configured to be worn on a foot and including a heel portion and a ball portion on an opposite end of the body from the heel portion, a heel pressure sensor, a ball pressure sensor, a heel movement sensor, a ball movement sensor, and a processor. The processor may be configured to detect activation of the heel pressure sensor and generate control data for the surgical instrument based upon the ball movement sensor when the heel pressure sensor is activated using the processor, and detect activation of the ball pressure sensor and generate control data for the surgical instrument based upon the heel movement sensor when the ball pressure sensor is activated using the processor. The processor may also be configured to communicate the control data from the processor to the surgical instrument via a communications link.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR CONTROLLING DENTAL MACHINES
A method, system and a computer readable storage media for operating dental machines through an augmented reality control interface A hands free interface may enable the control of a dental machine during dental treatment by using dexterous parts of the body other than the upper limbs (e.g. by using the lower limbs) on a first user/control interface to send instructions corresponding to a second user/control interface that is different from the first user/control interface.
OPERATION DEVICE AND X-RAY DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM
An operation device comprises a detector configured to detect an operation on a virtual switch by an operator to operate an X-ray irradiation in an X-ray diagnosis apparatus, wherein the virtual switch is virtually set at a position settled relatively with respect to the operator and output circuitry configured to output a detection result of the operation detected by the detector to the X-ray diagnosis apparatus to be operated. This device eliminates the need for looking away from a display monitor every time the operator operates the X-ray diagnosis apparatus.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR REVIEW OF AUTOMATED CLINICAL DOCUMENTATION FROM RECORDED AUDIO
A method, computer program product, and computing system for obtaining, by a computing device, encounter information of a patient encounter, wherein the encounter information may include audio encounter information obtained from at least a first encounter participant. The audio encounter information obtained from at least the first encounter participant may be processed. A user interface may be generated displaying a plurality of layers associated with the audio encounter information obtained from at least the first encounter participant. A user input may be received from a peripheral device to navigate through each of the plurality of layers associated with the audio encounter information displayed on the user interface.
DISPLAY SYSTEM
There is provided, in a vehicle capable of accommodating a plurality of passengers, a display system capable of providing a motivation to start a conversation among the passengers in view of conversation intentions of each passenger. The display system includes a control device, and at least one display device. The control device is configured to perform a conversation desire display process to display a conversation desire level of each of the passengers. Alternatively, the control device is configured to perform a conversation intention display process to display a conversation intention of each of the passengers for the other passengers. The conversation desire level and the conversation intention among passengers are input to the input device provided in the display system, by an operation of the passenger. Alternatively, they are estimated by the control device based on the passenger state information detected by the sensor provided in the display system.
Live cataract surgery video in phacoemulsification surgical system
A Phacoemulsification surgical system provides a live video feed from a camera that is attached to a surgical microscope. The live video feed is shown as part of a graphical user interface (GUI) of phacoemulsification surgical console either in a picture in picture or a full-screen format. The video feed is either static or displayed on-demand as needed during a surgical procedure. The displaying of a live video feed directly on the phacoemulsification surgical console allows for surgical assistants to interact with the live video feed and phacoemulsification surgical system parameters and/or GUI controls without having to refocus on an external object between near and far distances.
FOOTWEAR CONTROLLER FOR AN ELECTRONIC DEVICE AND METHOD OF OPERATING THE SAME
Embodiments include a footwear device for controlling an electronic device, the footwear device including a toe portion, a heel portion, and a sole portion defined along a bottom portion of the footwear device between the toe and heel portion. The device further including one or more sensors incorporated with the sole portion and configured to detect a movement of the footwear device. The device further includes a controller configured to store a footwear action database comprising footwear actions respectively assigned to input control actions of the electronic device. receive the output signal of the sensors, identify a corresponding input control action using the footwear action database, and generate a control signal based on the input control action. The device further includes a communication module to transmit a control signal to a game controller such that the movement of the footwear device causes the input control action of the electronic device.
