Display panel, display device and driving method
Disclosed are a display panel, a driving method thereof and a display device. The display panel includes: a light-shielding layer including imaging apertures, a light-emitting element layer including first light-emitting elements and second light-emitting elements, a touch functional layer, and a fingerprint recognition module. The orthographic projection of the second light-emitting element on the light-shielding layer is closer to the corresponding imaging aperture than the orthographic projection of the first light-emitting element on the light-shielding layer. In a first detection stage, the first light-emitting elements emit light, the second light-emitting elements do not emit light, and the fingerprint recognition module generates a first fingerprint image. In a second detection stage, the second light-emitting elements emit light, and the fingerprint recognition module generates a second fingerprint image. The first fingerprint image and the second fingerprint image are combined into a fingerprint image.

Pressure sensitive display device
A system that includes a multi-touch-sensitive display unit and sensing modules that are associated with the display unit for sensing force applied onto the display unit. The display unit is configured to display the sensed signal that is indicative of the force that is applied onto the display unit, in association with the position of the application of force. One realization of the system is for weighing objects on the touch-sensitive display unit. A user may place an object on the display unit and trigger weighing process by an interface of the multi-touch-sensitive display unit. The weighing process is carried out by the sensing modules and the weight of the object is displayed on the display unit in association with the object, e.g. in the vicinity to where the object is placed on the display unit.

Display-covered camera
One embodiment provides a method, comprising: receiving, at an information handling device, an indication to activate a camera positioned underneath a display portion of the information handling device; identifying, using a processor, a location of at least one pixel on the display portion positioned overtop the camera; disabling, based on the identifying, the at least one pixel; performing, subsequent to the disabling and using the camera, a function; and enabling, responsive to identifying that the function was performed, the at least one pixel. Other aspects are described and claimed.
Electronic devices with curved display surfaces
An electronic device may have light-emitting devices. A light-emitting device may include light-emitting diodes, a display, or other components that emit visual output. One or more image transport layers may be included in the electronic device. An image transport layer may have an input surface that receives an image and an output surface to which the image transport layer transports the image for viewing by a user. The image transport layers may have areas with compound curvature and other shapes. Deformed image transport layer structures such as deformed fibers in a coherent fiber bundle may be configured to hide gaps in displays and other structures. Displays may include light detectors that serve as a two-dimensional touch sensor. The touch sensor may detect touch input on an output surface of an image transport layer. Image transport layer material may be incorporated into buttons, elongated housings, wearable devices, and other equipment.
Hybrid digital and physical writing surface with transformational ink effects
The present invention provides a new and useful hybrid digital and physical interactive writing surface. A user writes on a physical writing surface using thermal ink. Underneath the physical writing surface is a heating layer. Once the heating layer is activated, the thermal ink disappears. Meanwhile, sensors capture a user's strokes while writing, and a computing device digitally stores the captured strokes. Therefore, there is zero-time delay or lag time between writing on the physical writing surface and its appearance. Finally, there is no need to erase any writing nor use other sheets or boards after one use because the writing is automatically erased.
PROXIMITY-BASED CONTROL OF MEDIA DEVICES FOR MEDIA PRESENTATIONS
Embodiments relate generally to electrical/electronic hardware, computer software, wired and wireless network communications, portable, wearable, and stationary media devices. RF transceivers and/or audio system in each media device may be used to wirelessly communicate between media devices and allow configuration and other data to be wirelessly transmitted from one media device to another media device. The proximity detection system may be configured to detect a presence of a user or multiple users and upon detecting presence, access content on a user device, and record the content while also playing back the content on the media device. One or more user devices in proximity of the media device post detection may wirelessly communicate with the media device and the media device may orchestrate handling and/or queuing of content from those devices or from a wirelessly accessible location such as the Cloud, Internet, NAS, Flash memory, or other wireless sources.
TOUCHLESS INPUT DEVICE WITH SENSOR FOR MEASURING LINEAR DISTANCE
An input assembly comprises a plurality of visual indicators differentiating between key regions on a plane. The input assembly also comprises a plurality of sensors, each arranged behind one of the key regions, and configured to determine a linear distance of the object from each of the sensors when the object is coming into proximity with the plane. Processing circuitry is configured to, based on input from the sensors, determine a location of a selected key region that the object is approaching ; instruct changing of a display of at least one of the plurality of visual indicators to highlight the selected key region with a first visual indication when an object approaches within the first predefined proximity of the selected key region; select, from among a plurality of values, a value that is associated with the selected key region, and output the selected value as a user-selected keypad value.
DISPLAY PANEL
A display panel includes a substrate including an opening area, a display area, and a first non-display area, the first non-display area being between the opening area and the display area, a plurality of display elements arranged in the display area, a thin film encapsulation layer that covers the display elements, the thin film encapsulation layer including an inorganic encapsulation layer and an organic encapsulation layer, a groove in the first non-display area, a planarization layer in the first non-display area, the planarization layer covering the groove, a first inorganic insulating layer under the planarization layer such that the first inorganic insulating layer is between the planarization layer and the substrate, and a second inorganic insulating layer over the planarization layer.
