A human machine interface with light sensing contact activation includes an operating panel and a display unit, where the operating panel includes at least one or more of a transparent or translucent substrate provided with at least one key area and at least one illumination source which can emit light into the substrate, and the display unit provides at least one information section at least temporarily displaying information on at least one function, which can be contact activated via the at least one key area of the operating panel. A rearview device and a motor vehicle may include such a human machine interface.

Implementations of a proximity detection device according to the present disclosure include a plurality of light emitting elements and a plurality of light receiving elements arranged in a lower portion of a touch panel display. The proximity detection device detects an object that is in proximity by reflected light received by the light receiving elements when irradiation light from the light emitting elements is reflected by the object. Implementations of a proximity detection device includes a drive circuit sequentially driving the plurality of light emitting elements, a measurement circuit measuring detection levels of the light receiving elements when the plurality of light emitting elements sequentially emit light, respectively, and a control unit having a function to estimate a position in the horizontal direction from a plurality of measurement results and correct the estimated position.

If the display device is being pressed by the at least one finger of the user, controlling a fingerprint acquiring device to acquire fingerprint images of the at least one finger of the user and controlling a positioning device to acquire location information of the electronic device. The fingerprint images of the at least one finger of the user and the location information of the electronic device can be uploaded by the electronic device to a fingerprint database for fingerprint recognition.

TOUCH DISPLAY APPARATUS
A touch display apparatus including a body, a display module, a light control element, and a touch module is provided. The body has an opening. The display module is disposed in the body and is suitable for emitting a plurality of image beams toward the opening. The light control element is disposed to overlap the opening of the body and is suitable for reflecting the image beams coming from the display module to an imaging space to display an image frame of the display module. The imaging space and the display module are located on two opposite sides of the light control element. The touch module is disposed on one side of the light control element and is configured to recognize a touch operation of a user in the imaging space.
