Virtual keypads for hands-free operation of computing devices
A method includes: detecting, at a computing device coupled to an image sensor, an input request; in response to detecting the input request, capturing a reference image via the image sensor, the reference image containing a virtual keypad having a set of virtual keys; detecting, in the reference image, the set of virtual keys; capturing, via the image sensor, a key-press image of the virtual keypad; detecting, in the key-press image, a subset of the virtual keys; comparing the set of virtual keys and the subset of virtual keys to identify a key-press obscuring one of the virtual keys; and returning input data corresponding to the obscured virtual key.
Content access and navigation using a head-mounted device
In a general aspect, a head-mounted device (HMD) can be configured to receive a selection of a mode of operation of a content reader of the HMD from a plurality of modes of operation, and initiate, in response to the selection, a content capture process to capture content within a field of view (FOV) of a camera of the HMD. The HMD can be further configured to identify, in the captured content, a plurality of content items, receive a navigation command to select a content item from the plurality of content items, and provide, in response to the navigation command, readback of the selected content item.

PROJECTING CONTENT ONTO WATER TO ENHANCE COMPUTER SIMULATION
Content is projected onto on the surface of water such that it can be viewed from either above or below the surface. Using distortion mapping, depth sensing, and de-noising, the image can remain unaffected by ripples and allow the user to interact within the body of liquid and/or use it as input. Liquids of different density can be layered on the surface to create different refraction planes. Water currents and jets can be used to actively reduce ripples from user interaction, as well as actively adding or removing liquid from the container to counteract displacement or create effect.
DISPLAY APPARATUS AND LED MODULE THEREOF
A display apparatus is disclosed. The display apparatus includes a LED module, a driving module and a control module. The driving module is coupled between the LED module and the control module. The LED module includes a plurality of package units. Each package unit includes a plurality of LEDs and at least one functional circuit. The driving module includes a conversion unit for receiving a first signal from the at least one functional circuit and converting it into a second signal. The control module controls the driving module to correspondingly change the operation of the LED module according to the second signal.

Method for displaying at least one additional item of display content
A method for displaying at least one additional item of display content on a display panel which is arranged in an interior of a vehicle, in which at least one sensor is used, using which a spatial corridor in the interior of the vehicle is optically monitored. The spatial corridor is delimited by two virtual boundary surfaces. At least one spatial virtual reference surface is defined in the spatial corridor between the virtual boundary surfaces, to which the at least one additional item of display content is assigned. The at least one sensor is used to detect whether a hand of a user is located in the corridor.
Projection system, position detection system, and method for controlling position detection system
There is provided a projection system including a projector that projects a projection image on a projection surface and a pointing element that points at the projection surface. The pointing element includes a reflector that is provided at a front end section of the pointing element and reflects infrared light, and an information communication section that transmits contact notification to the projector when the pointing element senses contact between the front end section and an object. The projector includes a light radiator that radiates the infrared light toward the projection surface, a first camera that captures an image of the projection surface, a second camera that is disposed in a position different from a position of the first camera and captures an image of the projection surface, and a detection section that detects a position where the pointing element comes into contact with the projection surface.
Sensing system for detection of light incident to a light emitting layer of an electronic device display
Systems and methods for detection of incident light are described. An optical imaging sensor is positioned at least partially within an active display area of a display and is configured to detect and characterize one or more properties of light incident to the active display area of the display.
