TOUCH-SENSING DEVICES USING MINIMUM DEPTH-VALUE SURFACE CHARACTERIZATIONS AND ASSOCIATED METHODS
Devices for sensing touch on a surface using a minimum depth-value surface characterization, including associated methods, are disclosed and described.
TOUCH AND GESTURE PAD FOR SWIPE/TAP ENTRY VERIFICATION SYSTEM
A touch and gesture pad for a swipe/tap entry verification system and a method of operating the touch and gesture pad are disclosed. The touch and gesture pad includes a housing that defines a compartment. The touch and gesture pad includes a wiring connector for attachment to a wiring harness to provide power and communication with a processing unit. A PCB is disposed in the compartment. A plurality of IR TOF sensors are disposed on and electrically connected to the PCB for sensing gestures and touches to the touch and gesture assembly. The plurality of IR TOF sensors each includes a transmitter for transmitting an infrared beam and a receiver for receiving the infrared beam after reflection from an object near one of the plurality of IR TOF sensors and for outputting an IR TOF signal to the processing unit indicating touches or gestures.
Methods for controlling an electric device using a control apparatus
Methods of controlling objects using an apparatus including a motion sensor and a processing unit and include sensing motion, converting the motion into a command function and processing the command function based on the sensed motion.
Methods for controlling an electric device using a control apparatus
Methods of controlling objects using an apparatus including a motion sensor and a processing unit and include sensing motion, converting the motion into a command function and processing the command function based on the sensed motion.
Method and apparatus for creating an adaptive Bayer pattern
A method and apparatus for creating an adaptive mosaic pixel-wise virtual Bayer pattern. The method may include receiving a plurality of monochromatic images from an array of imaging elements, creating a reference ordered set at infinity from the plurality of monochromatic images, running a demosaicing process on the reference ordered set, and creating a color image from the demosaiced ordered set. One or more offset artifacts resulting from the demosaicing process may be computed at a distance other than infinity, the ordered set may be modified in accordance with the computed offsets.
GRATING COUPLED LIGHT GUIDE
A grating-coupled light guide includes a plate light guide and a grating coupler at an input to the plate light guide. The grating coupler is to receive light from a light source and to diffractively redirect the light into the plate light guide at a non-zero propagation angle as guided light. Characteristics of the grating coupler determine a spread angle of the diffractively redirected guided light.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING TACTILE FEEDBACK FOR USERS OF VIRTUAL REALITY CONTENT VIEWERS
A gaming system and method for integrating tactile feedback into a virtual reality environment as viewed by a virtual reality viewer is disclosed. A physical object, which may be a physical button panel, such as a button panel printed on paper, dice, playing cards, coins or chips, a floor or any other tangible object, has a view thereof incorporated into the virtual reality environment. When the user touches the physical object, the touch gesture is captured and processed by the system to interpret the touch gesture as an input. The physical object may include a printed, projected or touch screen panel, a hand-held object, a portion of a gaming machine cabinet, a table tops, a floor and the like.
METHOD OF DETERMINING A TOUCH POSITION AND TOUCH PROJECTION SYSTEM USING THE METHOD
A method of determining a touch position and a touch projection system using the above-mentioned method are provided. The touch projection system has multiple interactive projection apparatuses. The method includes steps of: projecting each of the projection sub-images to a projection touch area, and forming a blending projection image having an overlap area; capturing the blending projection image within a viewing angle range of an image capture unit; providing a portion of information of a positioning pattern to each of the projection units, projecting each of the projection sub-images to the projection touch area, and capturing each of the projection sub-images having a portion of the positioning pattern, and forming a positioning image respectively; confirming a coordinate range of the overlap area located within the blending projection image according to each of the positioning images.
Touch location determination involving multiple touch location processes
Touch location determination approaches involving a plurality of touch location techniques are described. Each touch location technique is capable of independently determining a location of a touch within a touch area of the touch sensitive device. The touch location determination made by at least one touch location technique is enhanced using touch location information associated with the touch acquired from one or more other touch location techniques. One touch location technique may use a different type of sensor, signal, and/or algorithm from the one or more other touch location techniques.
System and methods of camera-based fingertip tracking
Systems and methods for camera-based fingertip tracking are disclosed. One such method includes identifying at least one location of a fingertip in at least one of the video frames, and mapping the location to a user input based on the location of the fingertip relative to a virtual user input device.
