An exemplary sun garment may have a neck portion, sleeve portions, front portion, and back portions. The exemplary sun garment may be configured to be worn in various applications about the torso and/or head of the user to shield the user's sin from sun damage.

Disclosed herein is an apparatus and method of use for a hat or head covering. More specifically, the present invention generally relates to an apparatus and method of use for a hat or head covering, which utilizes a material that reflects radiant heat to offer sun protection to a wearer of the apparatus. In one embodiment the apparatus is comprised of a main body component having an internal layer of material that reflects radiant heat. In another embodiment, the main body component is comprised of three layers: an outer layer, a middle layer made of a material that reflects radiant heat, and an inner layer. In embodiments, the apparatus is further comprised of a visor component also having an internal layer of material that reflects radiant heat. In yet other embodiments, the apparatus is further comprised of a brim component also having an internal layer of material that reflects radiant heat.

In some aspects, a sun protection article. The article may include a piece of fabric having an upper end and a lower end, with the upper end including a first opening and the lower end including a second opening. In some examples, the lower end may be placed around a person's neck so that a portion may extend through the second opening. In some examples, the upper end may be placed around a head of the person so that a head first portion extends through the first opening while a head second portion is covered by the fabric. In some examples, the upper end may be connected to a stabilizer configured to rest on a head top. Also, in some aspects, a sun-protection system including fabric having an upper end and a lower end, the upper end including a first opening and the lower end including a second opening.

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate generally to a base fabric for body gear and other goods having designed performance characteristics, and in particular to technical gear, such as garments, that utilize multispectral cooling elements coupled to the exterior facing surface of a base fabric.

A supported radiation protective garment is presented that can be worn by a medical provider under a standard surgical gown during procedures that involve the use of radiation. When used by the provider, the protective garment is lifted by vertical support members which can be extended downward and retracted upward. Rolling or sliding means at the lower end of the vertical support members allow the provider to move unhindered while wearing the radiation protective garment. The provider has access to a control mechanism that allows the shifting between retracted and extended positions of the vertical support members without breaking sterility. An alternative embodiment presents an upper apron portion of the protective garment, which can be manually connected by an assistant to a lower rolling base portion. The invention allows the provider to wear a heavy protective garment, offering significantly better radiation protection than standard lead aprons, while not being burdened by the weight of the garment. Further, the invention allows to maintain sterility at all times, and gives two or more providers, each wearing this protective garment, the option to work and move in close spatial proximity to each other.

A radiation protection device for providing protection of a body part that includes active bone marrow from ionizing radiation may include a radiation protection component configured to be placed adjacent to and externally cover the body part so as to reduce a radiation dose absorbed in that body part.

A protective lens stack comprises a base layer including a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) film containing a UV blocking additive and one or more removable lens layers stacked on top of the base layer. Each of the removable lens layers may include a PET film and a first adhesive disposed on a bottom surface of the PET film. Refractive indices of the base layer and the one or more removable lens layers may be matched to within 0.2. Each layer of the protective lens stack, including the base layer and each of the removable lens layer(s), may have less than 0.5% haze.
