According to examples, an apparatus may include a processor and a memory on which may be stored instructions that when executed by the processor, may cause the processor to access first identification information associated with the apparatus and send a portion of the first identification information to a server. A list of second identification information may be received from the server having portions that match the sent portion of the first identification information. In some examples, the processor may determine that the apparatus is authorized to communicate apparatus data of the apparatus to a services provider server based on a determination that the first identification information matches a second identification information among the received list of second identification information. Based on a determination that the apparatus is authorized to communicate the apparatus data, the processor may communicate the apparatus data over a network to the services provider server.

An information processing device includes a storage and a controller. The storage stores identification information and registration information of an image forming device in association with each other. The controller connects to the image forming device, based on the identification information, to acquire device information of the image forming device. If the acquired device information does not match the registration information, the connected image forming device announces that the connected image forming device is different from the image forming device identified by the registration information.

In a method for simulating a printing process of print jobs in a digital high-capacity printing system with print server and printing apparatus having a plurality of modules: a simulation state of the printing apparatus is activated by (e.g. a user of) a monitoring module of the digital high-capacity printing system, a print job is started with print data at the print server by the monitoring module, the print data is transferred to the printing apparatus, printing is simulated by supplying unrastered print data to an image raster computer of the printing apparatus while data is withdrawn from the image raster computer, and feedback is provided to the monitoring module of the digital high-capacity printing system about the occurrence of an error message. The speed of the removal may correspond to the print speed.

An image forming apparatus is provided with a storage, a controller, an image forming part, a first interface configured to receive an image forming job, and a second interface to which a portable storage device is connectable. When the particular storing function is enabled, image data is stored in the portable storage in response to receipt of the print job, and an image is formed in accordance with the image data stored in the portable storage. When the particular storing function is disabled, the image data related to the print job is stored in the storage of the image forming apparatus in response to receipt of the print job, and an image is formed in accordance with the image data stored in the storage of the image forming apparatus.

A printing apparatus according to an aspect includes a printing mechanism and a control section configured to control the printing mechanism to form a different margin according to presence or absence of an abnormality of the printing mechanism and a degree of the abnormality.

A method for display control is provided. The method includes obtaining information of a remaining amount display color displaying a remaining amount of a consumable supply, obtaining the information of a background color in a displaying area displaying the remaining amount of the consumable supply, and changing a display content in the displaying area on the basis of the remaining amount display color and the background color.

A printer comprising a controller to control printing operations, a 1st user interface and at least one second user interface, connection to connect the 2.sup.nd user interface with the controller and wireless connection for exchanging data between the 2.sup.nd user interface and the controller when the second user interface is not connected with the printer, the controller being programmed to: detect whether the 2.sup.nd user interface is connected or not with the printer; display a different information on at least the first user interface depending on whether the 2.sup.nd user interface is connected or not.

An information processing apparatus includes circuitry configured to display a display screen. The display screen includes a first display or a second display, and a third display. The first display displays, in units of a print job, checking result information obtained by comparing a read result with reference data on an image to be formed on the recording medium. The read result is obtained by reading a recording medium having an image formed. An information processing apparatus includes at least one processor configured to: acquire physical-property-value information of a recording medium; using information regarding a printing machine, perform an evaluation as to whether there is a possibility that the recording medium causes trouble for printing by the printing machine, the evaluation being performed with respect to at least one printing performance indicator based on the physical-property-value information; and output a result of the evaluation to a display device.

A server registers, into a first memory, user identification information and service information in a condition where a connection between the server and a target device via the Internet has not been established. The server registers, into a second memory, first device identification information in association with the user identification information and the service information registered in the first memory after receiving the first device identification information. After the connection between the server and the target device via the Internet has been established for a first time, the server causes a service providing server to provide the service to the user using the user identification information and the service information in the first memory in response to receiving the device identification information from a target device matching the first device identification information.
