A policy-based printing system is implemented to allow access to a private domain to print using a public domain. The private domain includes private servers that store documents. The public domain includes servers and a printing device. A public policy server uses a domain list and a protocol connection with a private authentication server to validate a user and identify which private domain to access. The public policy server receives requests from the printing device to process a print job of a document in the private domain. The private server processes the requests using the policy and a ledger to determine whether to allow the print job to the printing device. If a parameter of the policy is exceeded, then the private server allows an overage for the parameter so that the document is accessed.

A printing system includes a host apparatus configured to transmit a command to a printer apparatus. The host apparatus includes a communicator configured to receive status information containing information indicating a status of the printer apparatus, which is transmitted by the printer apparatus; a monitor configured to monitor the status of the printer apparatus based on the information indicating the status of the printer apparatus, which is contained in the status information received by the communicator; a determiner configured to determine, based on a result of monitoring the printer apparatus by the monitor, whether a reset command to be transmitted to the printer apparatus is to be generated; and a generator configured to generate the reset command when the determiner determines that the reset command is to be generated. The communicator is configured to transmit the reset command generated by the generator to the printer apparatus.

A virtual printer service according to the present disclosure acquires a response to a device search request from an actual printer and a virtual printer, determines based on the acquired response whether or not each device that has responded to the device search request is a virtual device, and presents, to a user, information on one or more devices in which a device determined as the virtual printer is excluded from the plurality of devices that have responded. A virtual device that transmits a print job to one device is then created based on information on the one device selected by the user from the presented information on one or more devices.

For each print job received, an optimal PPM set is determined that includes one or a combination of the eligible PPMs to use for the print job based on the PPM profiles, the print-related tasks needed for the print job, and the itemized estimated costs of the print-related tasks. IACs are determined for received print jobs based on shop floor data from the organization. A notification that proposes a change to a particular IEC is transmitted based on a difference between the IEC and its corresponding IAC differing by more than a predefined threshold.

An information processing device has a function of a wireless access point identified by a first identification name.
