A system and method are provided which enable a print media color to be used, as a replacement for a mixture of one or more colorants, in rendering portions of a print job. One or more multidimensional look-up tables are provided. Each table provides for an identified input color, in a device-independent space, to be equated to no colorant, when printed on the respective print media. The identified input color is one of a set of input colors, which, when printed and measured, has an output color that is closest to a measured color of the print media.

An information processing apparatus includes a memory in which processing instruction information including data to be processed and setting information is stored; a first executing unit that executes processing of the data to be processed on a basis of a first product and the setting information; a first measurement unit that measures a predetermined item concerning a first processing result of the first executing unit; a second executing unit that executes processing of the data to be processed on a basis of a second product and the setting information; a second measurement unit that measures the item concerning a second processing result of the second executing unit; and an output unit that outputs a result of comparison between the first processing result and the second processing result on a basis of a measurement result of the first measurement unit and a measurement result of the second measurement unit.

A controller of an image reading device is configured to obtain template data from an information processing device through a communication interface. The template data includes format data, first replacement data, and second replacement data. The controller replaces the first replacement data with identification data of the image recording device, replaces the second replacement data with detailed information, and generates transmission data containing the format data, the identification data, and the detailed information. The controller transmits the generated transmission data to the information processing device through the communication interface.

A printing apparatus includes a holder configured to hold an expendable supply attached thereto, a print engine configured to perform printing using the supply, a display configured to display information regarding the supply, and a controller configured to determine whether a supply-consumed status amount of the supply attached to the holder has reached a first threshold, the supply-consumed status amount representing how much the supply is consumed, and when determining that the supply-consumed status amount of the supply attached to the holder has reached the first threshold, cause the display to show supply-related information related to a contract concluded on the supply used for the printing.

A printing apparatus includes a reception unit configured to receive a print job, and an execution unit configured to execute printing of the print job received by the reception unit. The execution unit has a function of, in a case where a setting time or more elapses with a particular cause preventing the printing of the print job not being removed, canceling the printing of the print job. The execution unit has a function of canceling printing of a new print job received by the reception unit in a state where the setting time or more elapses with the particular cause not being removed.

A printing system is described. The printing system includes a memory to store print performance prediction logic and a processor to execute the print performance prediction logic to train a prediction model, receive print job metadata, receive configuration criteria of a printing system and predict first processing performance measurements of the printing system using the prediction model to simulate the printing system based on the print job metadata and the configuration criteria.

An electronic device including one or more functions, includes a memory that stores privilege information related to the one or more functions, and circuitry that, in response to addition of an additional function to the electronic device, sets privilege information of the additional function, based on setting information and the privilege information related to the one or more functions, the setting information indicating a correspondence relationship between the privilege information related to the one or more functions and privilege information related to the additional function. A method of processing print jobs on a printing substrate processing machine by using a computer, includes creating a data model for the computer with parameters for an unusable print/set-up time prediction on the basis of global print jobs and printing machine data, training the data model on the basis of global and/or local print jobs and printing machine data by using the computer, and defining ease-of-use criteria by an operator. The trained data model for the computer is used to predict the number of unusable prints during set up and set-up time of the printing substrate processing machine. The order of the processing of the print jobs is optimized on the basis of the predicted number of unusable prints during set-up and the predicted set-up time by using the computer.

An information processing apparatus configured to output information to a computing apparatus configured to generate a model for determining a density of an image to be formed by an image forming apparatus, the information processing apparatus includes: an acquisition unit configured to acquire pieces of log data each relating to a measurement result of an image formed by the image forming apparatus; a reception unit configured to receive information for specifying a piece of log data to be used for generation of the model among the pieces of log data acquired by the acquisition unit; and a transmission unit configured to transmit the information to the computing apparatus.
