A print process control system includes a plurality of printing devices and an order management system to manage print jobs to the printing devices. Each printing device has an achievable quality level corresponding to its ability to meet color printing requirements. Job data for a print job is parsed to identify spot colors related to colors to be reproduced at the printing device. The printing device receives a test chart with color patches for the spot colors. Measurement data is captured from the color patches of the test chart. Using the measurement data, the order management system confirms whether the printing device can reproduce the spot colors according to a required level of tolerance or quality level.

A reference image generating apparatus includes: a reader that reads a printed matter transported from an image forming apparatus; a reference image generator that generates a reference image for automatically inspecting the printed matter based on a read image generated by reading the printed matter; and a hardware processor, wherein the hardware processor acquires, from the image forming apparatus, information on whether or not each paper of the printed matter to be transported to the reader is subject to automatic inspection.

A portable terminal device includes a determination section that determines whether or not a notification of designation information for designating print data is required, in accordance with a determination criterion relating to a printing desire of a user to output the print data by printing, and a notification section that notifies the user of the designation information of the print data, of which a notification is determined to be required.

An image processing apparatus includes an obtaining unit that obtains attribute information that specifies a process performed by an image forming apparatus in accordance with a print job including print data, an identification unit that identifies a color of a recording medium specified by the attribute information, a generation unit that generates a display image on a basis of the color of the recording medium identified by the identification unit and the print data included in the print job, and a determination unit that determines, as the color of the recording medium identified by the identification unit, a display color of a drawing area which corresponds to an area of the recording medium for printing the print data and in which the display image generated by the generation unit is to be disposed.

An image forming apparatus includes: an image former that forms an image on a sheet; and a hardware processor that: generates, based on setting information of post processing performed on the sheet, adjustment image data that includes identification information identifying each of a plurality of adjustment items of the post processing; and causes the image former to form, based on the adjustment image data, an adjustment image on the sheet.

A coupon management device includes a network interface configured to communicate with a payment terminal installed at a store, and a processor configured to upon receipt of transaction data of a transaction settled by the payment terminal and identification information associated with the store, select one or more coupons based on the transaction data, based on the identification information, determine a number of coupons to be issued from the payment terminal, generate print data of the determined number of coupons among the selected coupons, and control the network interface to transmit the generated print data to the payment terminal.

In a printing system, a smartphone reads a printer ID and transmits a smartphone's print command that includes the read printer ID and a user ID to a server; the server transmits a server's print command that includes the printer ID included in the received smartphone's print command to an office PC associated with the user ID included in the received smartphone's print command; the office PC creates print data based on the print job received from the server, according to the received server's print command; and a printer performs printing according to the received print data.

An information printing apparatus includes a history-information acquiring section configured to acquire, from a plurality of printers, history information indicating errors that occurred in the printers and printing media used in the printers, a statistical-information acquiring section configured to acquire, based on the history information, statistical information obtained by collecting statistics of the errors for each of the printing media, and an output control section configured to cause a display section to output the statistical information for each of the printing media.

Disclosed is an apparatus generate updated sets of printing parameters for a printing process, the apparatus comprising a processor to receive initial correspondence data indicating correspondence between a plurality of color values and respective sets of printing parameters, wherein at least one colorant combination and a respective coefficient is assigned to each of the sets of printing parameters. The processor is to assign a weight to each colorant combination in the initial correspondence data based on at least a printing quality criterion relating to the colorant combinations within the initial correspondence data, and re-assign colorant combinations and respective coefficients to generate updated sets of printing parameters based on the assigned weights. Examples disclosed herein relate to detecting a storage device directly coupled to a print device, associating the storage device with a user, retrieving a print job from the storage device, determining whether the storage device has been decoupled, and in response to determining that the storage device has not been decoupled, pause printing of the print job.
