Information processing apparatus
An information processing apparatus includes a non-volatile semiconductor storage device including a flash memory, a write buffer memory that stores data that is to be stored onto the non-volatile semiconductor storage device, and a controller that performs control to write in a batch onto the non-volatile semiconductor storage device the data stored on the write buffer memory when an amount of the data stored on the write buffer memory reaches a predetermined amount of data.
PRINTING APPARATUS, COMPUTER-READABLE STORAGE MEDIUM, AND METHOD FOR SELECTING WHETHER TO RETAIN SELECTED JOBS AFTER PRINTING
A printing apparatus includes a reception interface, a display, a print engine, a storage, and a controller. The controller displays, on the display, print jobs stored in the storage, and an operable selection object. In response to input operations received via the reception interface, the controller selects one or more print jobs from among the print jobs displayed on the display and sets the operable selection object to select one of job retention printing and job deletion printing. The controller determines whether to retain or delete the selected one or more print jobs after printing by the print engine, based on which of the job retention printing and the job deletion printing is selected by the operable selection object.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR SHARING A PRINTABLE ELECTRONIC DOCUMENT BETWEEN USERS
Systems, methods, and devices are configured to share a printable electronic document created as part of a job, such as a print, copy, or scan job, between users. They include receiving a command to print an electronic document associated with a job initiated on a multi-function device, the job initiated in response to an input from a first user. They further include receiving an input to share the electronic document associated with the job with a second user and identifying the second user. They also include sending a notification message to the identified second user, the notification message indicating an availability of the electronic document associated with the job to the identified second user.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MANAGING PRINT JOBS
A computer-implemented method according to an example of the present disclosure includes obtaining, for each of a plurality of PPMs of an organization, a profile that indicates operating parameters of the PPM. IECs for a plurality of print-related tasks are stored in a database, the IECs including material costs and labor costs for the print-related tasks. For each print job received, an optimal PPM set is determined that includes one or a combination of the eligible PPMs to use for the print job based on the PPM profiles, the print-related tasks needed for the print job, and the itemized estimated costs of the print-related tasks. IACs are determined for received print jobs based on shop floor data from the organization. A notification that proposes a change to a particular IEC is transmitted based on a difference between the IEC and its corresponding IAC differing by more than a predefined threshold.
Systems and methods of enhancing the brightness of digital displays
A system, method, and apparatus provide brightness enhancement for digital displays. The digital display of an electronic apparatus may be augmented with an E-Ink based display module. Embodiments may replicate the content of the digital display shown on the E-Ink module display. The content is shown in a high contrast output that is readable even though the ambient light intensity may overwhelm the readability of the original digital display. Some embodiments include a clock which may trigger automatic operation of the E-Ink module. Some embodiments may include a transparent E-Ink module which may show replicated content obscuring the view an underlying digital display or which may remain transparent when the digital display is readable under the current light.
Secure release of print jobs in printing devices
In one example, a method is disclosed in which a key is generated in a client device when a print job is triggered at the client device. The key and the print job are provided to a printing device. Further, a first thumbnail of a page of the print job is generated in the client device. The page is determined as a function of the key. A first secure image is generated in the client device using the key and the first thumbnail. The first secure image is shared with the printing device. The first secure image is verified by the printing device using the provided key and then the print job is released upon successful verification.
METHOD FOR INK PRESSURE MODULATION IN A PRINTER FOR AXIALLY SYMMETRIC OBJECTS
An ink pressure modulation method is presented in a direct-to-shape printing system for applying images on the exterior of an axially symmetrical media object that has a contoured, varying exterior surface, such as occurs on curved wine bottles and sports equipment like bats. The method varies ink pressures based on the movement positions of each print head as they move over the surface of the media object. A movement-based formula is presented to allow for continuous updating of pressures in ink tank manifolds to allow independent changes in pressure to each inkjet print head during printing.
PRINT HEAD ASSEMBLY FOR APPLYING IMAGES OVER A CONTOURED AXIALLY SYMMETRIC OBJECT
An inkjet print head assembly and a method of using the assembly is disclosed for applying images on the exterior of an axially symmetrical media object that has a varying exterior surface, such as occurs on curved wine bottles and sports equipment like bats. The printing assembly includes a backing plate, a pair of independently extendable extension columns, and a print head on a platform depending downward from said columns. The assembly is supported by the frame of the printer and a movable carriage moves the media object from a loading area into a printing area near the printing assemblies where the assemblies may apply ink to the exterior of the media object. Each print head is movable in 3-dimensions such that as the media object moves under each head the print head tilts to match to local slope of the contoured surface underneath the ink jetting nozzles.
Image forming apparatus detects human body to lift suspension on printing process for executing a print job
An image forming apparatus includes an image forming section, a sheet output tray, an operating section, an operation acceptance section, a human body detection sensor, a communication section, a command acceptance section, and a control section. When the command acceptance section accepts a print job command from an external device while a human body is being detected by the human body detection sensor provided at the front of the image forming apparatus, the control section suspends a print job based on the print job command.
CONTROL APPARATUS, CONTROL METHOD, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER-READABLE STORAGE MEDIUM STORING PROGRAM
A control apparatus includes: an acquisition unit configured to analyze a job used to execute print processing and acquire sheet information of a page included in the job; and a control unit configured to decide a print speed in the print processing based on a result acquired by the acquisition unit and execute the print processing using the decided print speed. The control unit causes the acquisition unit to acquire the sheet information of each of a predetermined number of pages of a plurality of pages included in the job, accumulates the sheet information in a storage unit, decides the print speed based on the accumulated result, and executes the print processing using the decided print speed.
