SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONVEYING PRINT DEVICE STATUS INFORMATION USING A LIGHT INDICATOR FEEDBACK MECHANISM
A system for providing print device dynamic status indicator feedback includes a print device, and a status indicator feedback unit. The print device includes a print engine and one or more status monitors. The status indicator feedback unit includes a display device, a light emitting module, a processor in communication with the light emitting module, and a computer-readable medium containing programming instructions. The system may receive information corresponding to one or more current machine states of the print device from the one or more status monitors of the print device, determine a priority level associated with each of the one or more current machine states, identify a machine state associated with a highest priority level, identify a dynamic feedback pattern associated with the identified machine state. The dynamic feedback pattern includes a visual pattern. The system may and instruct the light emitting module to emit the visual pattern.

A method is disclosed for controlling at least one printer engine, the at least one printer engine having plural trays, each of the plural trays is aligned independently for imaging on a sheet of print medium. The method includes obtaining information according to first conditions in which each of the plural trays has been aligned, and the alignment of the each of plural trays is an adjustment to a position of a printable area on the sheet of print medium so that the printable area is centered on the sheet of print medium; obtaining information according to a second condition in which the at least one printer engine executes a print job; judging differences between each of the first conditions and the second condition; selecting a tray for the print job based on the judged differences; and instructing the print engine to execute the print job using the selected tray.

A printing device can reduce the length of roll paper that is printed, and enables easily knowing how much the printed length of roll paper was reduced. A printer 200 has a print unit 240 that conveys roll paper in the conveyance direction H and executes a printing process of printing images on the roll paper; a reduction processor 222 that controls the print unit 240 in the printing process to reduce the length of roll paper to which images are printed in the conveyance direction; a calculator 223 that calculates how much the printed length of roll paper was reduced in the printing process; and a display unit 252 that displays information indicating the reduction in the printed length of the roll paper calculated by the calculator 223.
Printer interface for printing data and/or receipts to and from hand held devices
Previous printers were designed to print a paper copy of data and/or receipts which causes a disconnect with modern day data manipulation. This printer interface can print data to and receive data from the internet and hand held devices which will open up extremely fast data exchange and data manipulation for consumers, cities, states and the federal government without the expense of having to purchase complete new systems. By simply changing out an old printer we can connect all old computer systems with modern day systems that now have the ability to manipulate data automatically.

A processing apparatus includes a file selecting section configured to receive selections of a plurality of files, a first processing section configured to perform authentication by applying authentication information to an authentication-required file that requires authentication for a process to be performed and configured to perform the process on the authentication-required file, a second processing section configured to perform the process on a no authentication-required file that does not require authentication for the process to be performed, and an authentication information acquiring section configured to request entry of the authentication information for the authentication-required file and acquire the authentication information. In response to the file selecting section receiving a selection of the authentication-required file, before both of the first processing section and the second processing section perform the process, the authentication information acquiring section is configured to request the entry of the authentication information for the authentication-required file.

A control apparatus includes a display unit, a storing unit, a determining unit, and a control unit. The display unit displays a job. The storing unit stores attribute information about a sheet to be accommodated in a sheet holding unit. The determining unit determines whether attribute information about a sheet to be used in the job corresponds to attribute information about the sheet stored in the storing unit. The control unit controls the determining unit, wherein, after determination processing by the determining unit has been completed. The control unit controls the determining unit to further perform determination processing in response to a change of the attribute information about the sheet stored in the storing unit, or in response to a change of the attribute information about the sheet to be used in the job.

Image forming system including image forming apparatus configured to output voice guidance to a user during transfer of a job, and method for controlling image forming apparatus
In a system including first and second image forming apparatuses, a hardware processor of the first image forming apparatus guides a user by voice on information about execution of a job, and sets the job based on voice input from the user. When the job cannot be executed by a printer, the hardware processor of the first image forming apparatus transfers the set job to the takeover-destination second image forming apparatus through a network. A hardware processor of the second image forming apparatus that has received the set job takes over and performs the guidance for the user by voice.
Storage medium having fingernail image processing, information processing apparatus, and control method of information processing apparatus
An information processing apparatus detects a printing-target fingernail area from a first captured image, creates print data for performing printing in the detected fingernail area, and detects a printing-target fingernail area from a second captured image before transmitting the print data to a printer. The print data is corrected based on a difference between the first and second detection results. In addition, a change in position, gradient, and shape of a fingernail based on the first detection results and the second detection results is detected, and it is determined whether one of an amount of change in position, an amount of change in gradient, and an amount of change in shape of a fingernail is larger than or equal to a predetermined threshold value.
