An information processing apparatus includes a reception unit that receives an instruction to install a function in a device connected to a communication line, and receives designation of a display location of a selection part used to select the function on a screen displayed in the device in a case where the function is installed in the device, and a control unit that controls the screen of the device such that the selection part of the function is displayed in the display location, in which the designation is received in the reception unit, on the screen of the device.

An example system may include a plurality of print devices, a supply attachment, and a device remote to the plurality of print devices. The plurality of print devices may receive the supply attachment. The device remote to the plurality of print devices may receive signals via the supply attachment that are indicative of print device information data from the plurality of print devices.

A method is provided to exert unbinding control on an image forming device. The method includes: obtaining an unbinding instruction; sending a first unbinding request to the server according to the unbinding instruction, where the unbinding request includes identification information of the image forming device; obtaining a reply message from the server in response to the unbinding request; and in response to a determination that the reply message indicates unbinding failure, automatically sending a second unbinding request to the server.

A verification system includes a printer which prints image on a recording sheet, a reader which reads an image printed on the recording sheet, and controllers to set a first print setting via a setting screen, cause the printer to print an image based on the set first print setting, cause the reader to read the printed image, and register the read image as a correct image. The controllers also set a second print setting via the setting screen, cause the printer to print an verification target image based on the set second print setting, cause the reader to read the printed verification target image, and verify the read image using the registered correct image, and control the setting screen for the second print setting so that a predetermined print setting included in the first print setting cannot be edited on the setting screen for the second print setting.

Certain aspects and features relate to using an image modifier to generate digital designs and to printing the digital designs on a structure for flooring or other decoration that can more realistically mimic designs found in nature or otherwise provide designers with the freedom to create aesthetic designs more easily. An image modifier can receive an image, such as an image of a naturally occurring view and generate modified designs based on the image. The modified designs can be slight modifications to the image and printed on the structures for flooring such that together the printed structures exhibit the appearance of a design found in nature or a desired appearance by a designer.

An image recording device includes a cartridge mount to which a cartridge is mounted, a print engine that performs printing, a cartridge interface, an information interface, a memory, and a controller. Embodiments disclosed include systems and methods for computer automated print services control comprising authenticating a user credential input via a user device. The system and method includes generating, by a printer driver comprised in the user device, a user interface comprising features supported by a plurality of printing devices. Further, it includes receiving via the user device over the network, a print instruction comprising the features supported by the plurality of printing devices connected to the computer system over the network. And based on the print instruction, generating a print job in an embodiment. Further, based on the user authentication at one of the plurality of printing devices, converting via a gateway, the received print instruction into a format compatible with that printing device and releasing the generated print job for printing at that printing device, according to an embodiment.

A control method of an information processing apparatus on which an expansion application configured to expand a function of print data generation software configured to generate print data runs, is provided. The control method comprises obtaining attribute data on a printing apparatus, the attribute data being output from the printing apparatus, obtaining data indicating a print function, and adding information related to a specific function based on attribute information included in the obtained attribute data if information indicating the specific function is not included in the obtained data indicating the print function. A setting screen including a setting item of the specific function is displayed based on the added information related to the specific function.

A system for presenting a soft-proof of a three-dimensional (3D) printed part may include a processor, and a memory device communicatively coupled to the processor. The system may also include a communication link to support communication with a 3D printing device, and computer usable program code to, when executed by the processor, retrieve data from the 3D printing device defining at least one capability of the 3D printing device that affects an appearance of a part when printed. The system may also include an application programming interface (API) to provide data defining generation of a soft-proof of the part based on the at least one capability of the 3D printing device, the soft-proof of the part depicting characteristics of the part as the part appears as printed.

A control unit is provided that is configured to execute predetermined control processing to prevent printing previously executed by a first printing unit from being executed by a second printing unit, the printing being based on at least one of one or more print jobs received from a server system.
