The illustrative embodiments described herein provide systems and methods for notifying a user when a set of characters are identified in a media file. In one embodiment, a method includes receiving a set of characters inputted by the user of a computing device, playing the media file, transcribing the media file to form a transcription, and determining whether the transcription of the media file includes the set of characters. The method also includes initiating a notification prompt on a graphical user interface of the computing device in response to determining that the media file includes the set of characters.

An image forming apparatus includes a processor configured to: acquire information about a rendering engine from a first image forming apparatus out of plural image forming apparatuses connected to a network that are capable of performing printing using corresponding rendering engines each including predetermined plural setting items; display a setting item that is able to be changed, out of a setting item for the rendering engine acquired from the first image forming apparatus and a setting item for a rendering engine provided in the image forming apparatus; and receive a change of the setting item.

A method and apparatus to implement a unified and decentralized machine interface for control of multi-printer systems is disclosed. A master controller device accepts a selection control from a user indicating a plurality of selected printers from printers connected to the master controller device by a network. The master controller device accepts an operation control from the user, indicating at least one printer operation to be performed on the plurality of selected printers. The master controller broadcasts a simultaneous control signal to the plurality of selected printers with data instructing the printers to immediately perform at least one printer operation, triggering, substantially simultaneously with the broadcasting of the simultaneous control signal, performance of the at least one printer operation at the plurality of selected printers, and performing the at least one printer operation substantially simultaneously at the plurality of selected printers immediately upon receiving the simultaneous control signal.

An image forming device includes a receiver and a switcher. The receiver receives data for executing a function of storing specific data in a preset private box. The switcher switches between first and second register modes when the function to be executed by using the data received by the receiver is copied into the image forming device. The first register mode is a mode in which a private box is manually registered in the image forming device. The second register mode is a mode in which a private box is automatically registered in the image forming device.

An image forming apparatus includes a processor configured to: obtain a print job in which setting-tray information is registered, the setting-tray information describing a tray and being specified according to a configuration of a second image forming apparatus, the second image forming apparatus being different from the image forming apparatus; and execute the print job by applying tray information, the tray information corresponding to the setting-tray information of the print job and according with a configuration of the image forming apparatus.

A peer-to-peer network of printing devices is configured to share information and color printing resources, such as TRCs, spot colors, and ICC profiles, as well as paper catalogs within the network without the need for a centralized server or cloud service. The digital front ends (DFEs) of the printing devices manage printing device information which is made available to all printing devices. When an update occurs at a printing device within the peer-to-peer network, its DFE sends a signal to the other printing devices to synchronize their information with the updated information. When a new printing device is added to the peer- to-peer network, its information and color printing resources are merged or replaced with the information within the network.

A print system includes a first multifunction peripheral, a second multifunction peripheral configured to communicate with the first multifunction peripheral, and a server configured to communicate with the first and second multifunction peripherals. The first multifunction peripheral receives print job data from a terminal device and stores the received print job data. The server transmits an HTML file of a screen for printing associated with printing based on the print job data to the second multifunction peripheral. The second multifunction peripheral displays, based on the HTML file of the screen for printing received from the server, the screen for printing and, when a print instruction operation is performed on the displayed screen for printing, receives the print job data stored in the first multifunction peripheral from the first multifunction peripheral and executes printing based on the received print job data.

An information processing apparatus includes a first memory unit configured to store data, which is output target data to be output to an apparatus, a compression unit configured to generate compression data formed by compressing the data, and a sending unit configured to send the compression data corresponding to the data in response to a data acquisition request to acquire the data from the apparatus.

An image forming apparatus is provided which is used in a system having a first group and one or more second groups into which a plurality of second image forming apparatuses are classified, and classified into the first group together with a third image forming apparatus. A printing system includes: a program of a printer drive; and printers, wherein the printing system encrypts part of a print job and transmits the print job to the printer, the printer includes a setting unit configured to receive a setting of a new encryption key, a storage unit, an encryption unit configured to generate new encryption key information, a search unit configured to search a network for a printer, a transmission unit configured to transmit the new encryption key information to the printer, a notification unit configured to notify the printer driver of apparatus information, a receiving unit configured to receive the new encryption key information, a decryption unit configured to decrypt the new encryption key information, and a change unit configured to change an encryption key, and the program of the printer driver acquires the new encryption key, and changes an encryption key to the new encryption key.
