An image processing apparatus serving as a master device and a plurality of local image processing apparatus serving as local devices are connected to one another via a network, and each of the devices includes an authentication information storage unit and an authentication unit. The master device stores, as master authentication information, authentication information necessary for an authentication on each of users who are able to use each of the devices, for each of the devices, and allows editing of the master authentication information. When the authentication information on the local device in the master authentication information is edited, the edited authentication information is transmitted to the local device, and the authentication information stored in local device is updated. When a user login operation is performed on the local device, an authentication is performed by using the authentication information in the local device.

A first printer 60 has a connection unit to which data is input and which outputs print data based on the input data; a first printer print unit 71 that prints; a detection unit 62B that detects if the input printing result contains an error when the printing result of the print data output from the connection unit is input; a reprint storage unit 65A that stores print data when the detection unit 62B detects an error; and a reprint control unit 62F that outputs print data stored in the reprint storage unit 65A from the connection unit when a predetermined specific condition is met.

Provided is a communication system including a master device that transmits a signal transmitted from an upstream side to a downstream side, and plural slave devices connected in series to the downstream side of the master device, wherein the slave devices include a communications port that communicates with the upstream side and at least one communications port that communicates with the downstream side, and the master device sequentially sets identification information that identifies the slave device from another slave device from the upstream side to the downstream side by sequentially transmitting a setting information towards all of the plural slave devices.

A print instruction device includes: a communicator that communicates with plural printers, each of which has a function as a parent machine storing print data and a function as a child machine acquiring and printing the print data; a print data sending processor that sends the print data to be stored in the parent machine; a print completion reception processor that receives print completion information from the child machine; a print history manager that updates print-related history on the basis of the received print completion information; and a parent machine setting device that specifies a most frequently used printer on the basis of the updated history when sending the print data, switches the parent machine to a specified printer, and causes the switched parent machine to send the print data.

An example image forming apparatus includes a communication device to receive device information regarding image forming apparatuses included in a group to which the image forming apparatus belongs and application list information regarding an application list applied to the image forming apparatuses included in the group, and a processor to synchronize applications installed in the image forming apparatus based on the received application list information, and control the communication device to transmit the device information and the application list information to another image forming apparatus in the group to which the image forming apparatus belongs based on the device information.

The illustrative embodiments described herein provide systems and methods for notifying a user when a set of characters are identified in a media file. In one embodiment, a method includes receiving a set of characters inputted by the user of a computing device, playing the media file, transcribing the media file to form a transcription, and determining whether the transcription of the media file includes the set of characters. The method also includes initiating a notification prompt on a graphical user interface of the computing device in response to determining that the media file includes the set of characters.

There is provided an information processing apparatus including: an extraction unit configured to, when an event for changing a configuration of the information processing apparatus occurs, extract a setting that needs to be changed; and a request unit configured to request another information processing apparatus that possesses the setting extracted by the extraction unit, to replicate the setting to the information processing apparatus.

A printing apparatus determines whether or not a printing job accumulated by a different printing apparatus different in type from the printing apparatus itself is configured to be performed by the printing apparatus, based on at least one determination of a first determination of whether or not the printing job includes a printing setting dependent on a type of apparatus, a second determination relating to processing that rotates a printing image, and a third determination relating to a data format of the printing image.

Systems and methods are provided for handling print jobs. One embodiment is a system that includes a print server that serves a print shop having printers which exhibit different capabilities. The print server includes an interface that receives print jobs that each include content in the form of a Job Definition Format (JDF) job ticket and Portable Document Format (PDF) print data, a memory that stores the print jobs, and a controller. The controller schedules the print jobs for printing at the printers, and converts content of at least one of the print jobs to a different implementation, such that print jobs scheduled for printing at different printers include different implementations of content, based on the capabilities of the printer that they are scheduled for printing at.

A print data control apparatus includes a reception section that receives print data which is to be printed in a first printing apparatus; a transmission section that transmits the print data, which is received by the reception section, to a second printing apparatus; an information acquisition section that acquires information related to the second printing apparatus; and an acceptance section that accepts an instruction which is to be provided to the second printing apparatus that designates a type of processing with respect to the print data transmitted by the transmission section, that is, an instruction which is selected based on information acquired by the information acquisition section.
