Patient Transport Apparatus With Defined Transport Height

Patient transport apparatus with defined transport height comprises a support structure and a litter that are interconnected by a lift mechanism. The support structure comprises a base frame and a plurality of articulable support members or legs. The litter comprises a litter frame and a patient support surface with articulating back and leg sections. The lift mechanism may comprise one or more actuators configured to raise and lower the litter between a lowered position and one or more defined raised positions. The Patient transport apparatus may further comprise a controller coupled to one or more sensors and the lift mechanism. The controller may be configured to define a transport height for the litter based, at least in part, on a characteristic detected by the one or more sensors, and to manipulate the lift mechanism to adjust the litter to the defined transport height.

Hydraulic valve and system

An apparatus includes a hydraulic circuit that is configured to selectively open fluid communication between one portion of the hydraulic circuit and another portion of the hydraulic circuit, such as a reservoir, based on the flow of the hydraulic fluid in the one portion. When the flow of hydraulic fluid exceeds a selected threshold in the one portion of the hydraulic circuit, the flow of fluid urges the opening of a hydraulic component of the hydraulic circuit to allow fluid communication between the one portion and the reservoir to discharge fluid from the one portion.

HYDRAULIC CIRCUIT FOR A PATIENT HANDLING APPARATUS

A patient handling apparatus includes a patient support surface, a base, and a hydraulic circuit. The hydraulic circuit includes a pump, a fluid reservoir, and a hydraulic cylinder operable to selectively raise or lower the patient support surface or the base. The hydraulic circuit controls flow of fluid between the cylinder and the fluid reservoir to thereby control the movement of the base or patient support surface. In addition, the hydraulic circuit may include a manual bypass circuit configured to bypass the pump in response to a manual input, which allows manual extension or retraction of the cylinder, for example, when the pump is not operational. The hydraulic circuit may also include a pump bypass circuit configured to bypass the pump to allow fluid to discharge from the cap end to the fluid reservoir for faster evacuation of fluid from the cylinder, thereby increasing retraction speed of the rod.

Tiered void cells

The disclosed technology includes tiered void cells which provide protection, comfort, and stability during compression. The tiered void cells may be arranged in vertically stacked columns and include a stroke whereby tiers of a void cell can telescope into adjacent tiers of that void cell, as well as telescope into adjacent tiers of adjacent void cells in a column. Implementations described and claimed herein include a cushioning system comprising an array of tiered void cells, wherein each tiered void cell includes a base portion, a plunger portion, the plunger portion to collapse into the base portion under compression of the cushioning system, and a living hinge elastically connecting an inner perimeter of the base portion to an outer perimeter of the plunger portion.

Patient support apparatus with lift mechanism

A patient support apparatus supports a patient and includes a litter. A base is disposed below the litter. A lift mechanism is configured to move the litter and the base relative to one another between extended and collapsed positions. The lift mechanism includes first and second frame assemblies each including an outer frame member and an inner frame member arranged to move within the outer frame member. First and second rollers and first and second slide members are disposed between the outer and inner frame members. The first and second rollers are arranged to roll along at least one of the outer and inner frame members with a load exerted on the lift mechanism from the litter. The first and second slide members are arranged to slide along at least one of the outer and inner frame members with a load exerted on the lift mechanism from the base.

Stretcher

A stretcher including a support frame for supporting a patient, front legs and rear legs rotatably coupled to the support frame around a respective first and second rotation axis. Each front and rear leg supports respectively a front wheel holder frame hinged to the respective front leg around a first oscillation axis parallel to the first rotation axis and supporting a front wheel resting on a rest plane and a rear wheel holder frame hinged to the respective rear leg around a second oscillation axis parallel to the second rotation axis and supporting a rear wheel resting on a rest plane. The stretcher has a handling arrangement for the front wheel holder frame and the rear wheel holder frame, and a control module configured to keep the first and second pivot axes always orthogonal to the rest plane on which the front and rear wheels roll.
