11599303 · 2023-03-07 · ·

An information processing apparatus that is capable of improving access to a nonvolatile semiconductor memory. The information processing apparatus includes a nonvolatile semiconductor memory that includes memory areas, a user interface that can accept a user operation, a memory device that stores a set of instructions, and one or more processor that executes the set of instructions to generate an erase command that instructs the semiconductor memory to execute an erasing process to each of the memory areas in a state where a user operation to the user interface is unacceptable.

The present disclosure provides a power-down test method for a firmware of a memory system, a memory system, a computer device, a computer-readable storage medium, and a power-down test system. The disclosed method for testing power-down operations of the firmware of the memory system comprises configuring the firmware by setting a plurality of power-down trigger signal points each associated with a corresponding one of the plurality of preset logic points to be tested, and triggering a plurality of power-down test operations at the plurality of power-down trigger signal points to test the plurality of preset logic points of the firmware.

Information handling system and keyboard dual mode pairing

An information handling system and keyboard automatically coordinate wireless pairing when the keyboard couples to the information handling system to interface contacts exposed at the information handling system housing and the keyboard. The information handling system retrieves an identifier of the keyboard through a contact, determines if the keyboard is already paired, and if not initiates wireless pairing with a command through the contact. A pairing key is provided from the keyboard to the information handling system through the contact and applied by the information handling system to complete pairing. A confirm code is communicated through the contact to the keyboard for communication back to the information handling system by wireless signals. The contacts provide a charging path to charge the keyboard when coupled to the information handling system.

Memory calibration system and method

A method for performing stutter of dynamic random access memory (DRAM) where a system on a chip (SOC) initiates bursts of requests to the DRAM to fill buffers to allow the DRAM to self-refresh is disclosed. The method includes issuing, by a system management unit (SMU), a ForceZQCal command to the memory controller to initiate the stutter procedure in response to receiving a timeout request, such as an SMU ZQCal timeout request, periodically issuing a power platform threshold (PPT) request, by the SMU, to the memory controller, and sending a ForceZQCal command prior to a PPT request to ensure re-training occurs after ZQ Calibration. The ForceZQCal command issued prior to PPT request may reduce the latency of the stutter. The method may further include issuing a ForceZQCal command prior to each periodic re-training.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MONITORING AND CONTROLLING COMPUTER USAGE IN A REMOTE HOME WORK ENVIRONMENT

A method for monitoring and controlling usage of a remote work computing device is provided. The work computing device is in communication with a first computing device over a network, and comprises a display including a field of view (FOV) and a camera directed at the FOV. The method comprises: providing a first memory for storing a feature/attribute of an unauthorized object; capturing a digital image using the camera including a first object in the FOV; identifying a feature/attribute of the first object; and comparing the feature/attribute of the first object with the feature/attribute of the unauthorized object. When the feature/attribute of the first object matches the feature/attribute of the unauthorized object, a notification is communicated to the first computing device including the captured digital image, the display is prevented from being viewed from the FOV, and/or a task manager window is captured and communicated to the first computing device.

REMOTE PAIRING DEVICE AND METHOD

A remote pairing device is provided. The remote paring device includes a processor to execute the following steps. A plurality of controlled elements is divided into a restart group and a force-shutdown group. Each of the controlled elements is connected to an electronic device. A restart command is sent to the controlled elements in the restart group. A force-shutdown command is sent to the controlled elements in the force-shutdown group. The pairing candidate lists each corresponding to the controlled elements are updated according to the connection status corresponding to the electronic devices received during a specific time period after sending the restart command or the force-shutdown command. Determining that the controlled elements corresponding to the pairing candidates list having only one electronic device therein are successfully paired.

Techniques for Persistent Memory Virtualization

Examples may include techniques for persistent memory virtualization. Persistent memory maintained at one or more memory devices coupled with a host computing device may be allocated and assigned to a virtual machine (VM) hosted by the host computing device. The allocated persistent memory based on a file based virtual memory to be used by the VM. An extended page table (EPT) may be generated to map physical memory pages of the one or more memory devices to virtual logical blocks of the file based virtual memory. Elements of the VM then enumerate a presence of the assigned allocated persistent memory, create a virtual disk abstraction for the file based virtual memory and use the EPT to directly access the assigned allocated persistent memory.

EFFICIENT REBOOT OF AN OPERATING SYSTEM

A computer system is rebooted upon crash without running platform firmware and without retrieving all of the modules included in a boot image from an external source and reloading them into system memory. The reboot process includes the steps of stopping and resetting all of the processing units, except one of the processing units that detected the crash event, selecting the one processing unit to execute a reboot operation, and executing the reboot operation to reboot the computer system.

Pre-shutdown media management operation for vehicle memory sub-system
11687260 · 2023-06-27 · ·

A vehicle memory sub-system can be switched from a normal mode to a pre-shutdown mode and initiate a media management operation before shutting down. The mode switch and/or media management operation can be performed in response to receiving a shutdown or pre-shutdown command for the vehicle. After completion of the memory management operation the vehicle and/or memory sub-system can be shutdown.

System and method of identifying the idle time for lab hardware thru automated system

A centralized monitoring server communicates with a system administrator through a mobile application and agent programs running on server machines that monitor the idle status of the server machines and storage arrays. When a server machine and/or storage array are idle, the centralized monitoring server can instruct the agent program to shutdown the server machine and/or storage array. The centralized monitoring server can also startup the server machine and/or storage array when needed. In an embodiment, the system administrator can control the shutdown and startup instructions. By shutting down server machines and/or storage arrays energy efficiency can be significantly improved.
