APPARATUS AND METHOD OF TRACKING CALL PATHS
A data processing apparatus is provided. Call path storage circuitry stores an identifier of a call path and processing circuitry executes a current group of instructions from a plurality of groups of instructions. The processing circuitry is responsive to a calling instruction to firstly cause the processing circuitry to start executing, in dependence on the calling instruction, a next group of instructions from the plurality of groups of instructions such that the current group of instructions is added to the call path, and to secondly cause the call path storage circuitry to update the identifier of the call path, on the basis of the call path, using a compression algorithm.
Crash management of host computing systems in a cluster
Techniques for managing crash in a host computing system in a cluster are disclosed. In one embodiment, a core dump partition may be configured in memory associated with a remote access controller (RAC) within the host computing system. When the host computing system is crashed, a screen shot associated with the host computing system is obtained through the RAC. Further, a first occurrence of crash in the host computing system is determined based on the obtained screen shot. Furthermore, the core dump file associated with the first occurrence of crash is copied from the core dump partition to a shared datastore. Also, the host computing system is reset through the RAC upon copying the core dump file to the shared datastore.
Reliable intermediate multicast communications
In certain embodiments, a computer-implemented method includes detecting, by a first processing system, that a failure event operable to cause the first processing system to become inoperable has occurred. The method further includes communicating, by the first processing system using multicasting, a notification to two or more proxy processing systems. At least one of the proxy processing systems is operable to receive the notification and communicate the notification to a second processing system on behalf of the first processing system using a reliable communications protocol.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONALITY TO DEVELOPER SIDE APPLICATION IN AN INTEGRATED DEVELOPMENT ENVIRONMENT
A developer analytic module executing on an integrated development environment provides location tracing of a software development toolkit and automatic updated of the SDK. The developer analytic module further provides data container transfer functionality to ensure that analytic logic has access to necessary data containers to perform symbolication and/or error detection.
Coordinating fault recovery in a distributed system
In various embodiments, methods and systems for coordinating, between a host and a tenant, fault recovery of tenant infrastructure in a distributed system is provided. A fault occurrence is determined for a tenant infrastructure in the distributed system. The fault occurrence may be a software failure or hardware failure of the tenant infrastructure supporting a service application of the tenant. A fault recovery plan is communicated to the tenant to notify the tenant of the fault occurrence and actions taken to restore the tenant infrastructure. It is determined whether a fault recovery plan response is received from the tenant; the fault recovery plan response is an acknowledgement from the tenant of the fault recovery plan. Upon receiving the fault recovery plan response or at the expiration of a predefined time limit, the fault recovery plan is executed to restore the tenant infrastructure.
Method and system for error correction utilized with a system for distribution of media
A method and system for correcting errors in a receiving system is disclosed. The method and system comprises analyzing and identifying errors in a media in the receiving system and communicating with a network center to download fixes to correct errors in the media.
COGNITIVE PLATFORM FOR TROUBLESHOOTING SYSTEM EVENTS
A method for the cognitive debugging of a managed system includes first receiving an event in an event management system. Thereafter, a context for the event is extracted therefrom and the context is mapped to both one or more components of a managed computing system and also one or more corresponding debug mode commands for each of the components. Consequently, a debug mode is enabled in each of the components and the corresponding debug mode commands are issued for each of the components so as to provoke a generation of one or more log entries. The generated log entries then are matched to a pre-stored log entry amongst a multiplicity of pre-stored log entries and at least one problem resolution document stored in connection with the matched pre-stored log entry is transmitted to an operator of the event management system.
COMPONENT MOUNTING SYSTEM AND COMPONENT MOUNTING METHOD
A component mounting system includes a component mounting line in which a plurality of processing devices are connected to constitute the component mounting line and a management device (management computer) connected to the component mounting line by a network, and each of the plurality of processing devices can be remotely operated via the network by an input unit of the management device. In this component mounting system, it is determined whether or not an error occurring in the processing device is a remote response error (ST1), and notification in a first notification pattern is performed (ST2) in a case where a type of the error is the remote response error (Yes in ST1) and notification in a second notification pattern is performed (ST3) in a case where the type of the error is not the remote response error (No in ST1) based on a result of the error type determination.
Method of repairing non-volatile memory based storage device and method of operating electronic system including the storage device
A method of repairing a storage device including a non-volatile memory includes powering on the storage device, performing a booting sequence, determining whether an error has occurred during the booting sequence or during a normal mode, writing a failure signature to a predetermined signature address in the non-volatile memory upon determining that the error has occurred, reporting a failure to a host upon writing the failure signature, entering into a repair mode upon reporting the failure, and operating in the normal mode upon determining that the error has not occurred.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR AUTOMATED ISSUE REMEDIATION FOR INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY INFRASTRUCTURE
A system and method for extensible, protective, and verifiable automated issue remediation for information technology infrastructure comprises invoking an application programming interface to obtain at least one issue object corresponding to an alert generated by a monitoring system; matching the issue object to at least one diagnosis plugin of a plurality of diagnosis plugins; obtaining a prescription object from the diagnosis plugin, the prescription object comprising a remedy; and invoking the remedy after verifying the remedy is authorized to proceed.
