ALTERNATIVE STORAGE NODE COMMUNICATION CHANNEL USING STORAGE DEVICES GROUP IN A DISTRIBUTED STORAGE SYSTEM
20220222155 · 2022-07-14 ·

An apparatus comprises at least one processing device that includes a processor coupled to a memory. The processing device is configured to associate a first storage node with at least a second storage node in a plurality of storage nodes of a distributed storage system, each such storage node comprising a plurality of storage devices, to establish a storage devices group comprising specified ones of the storage devices of the first and second storage nodes, to detect an issue with a first communication channel to the first storage node, and responsive to the detected issue, to communicate with the first storage node via the second storage node, utilizing an alternative communication channel involving one or more storage devices of the storage devices group. The storage devices group may comprise a designated subset of storage devices within a common disk array enclosure (DAE) shared by the first and second storage nodes.

Two-way real time communication system that allows asymmetric participation in conversations across multiple electronic platforms

Methods, systems, and apparatuses, including computer programs encoded on computer-readable media, for receiving a first communication as part of a conversation, from an unauthenticated user of a web browser. A conversation identifier is determined based on the first communication. A first responder, a communication protocol, and a communication address of the first responder is determined. The first communication is sent to the first responder and a first reply is received. The conversation identifier is determined based on the first reply and the first reply is mapped to the web browser. The first reply is sent to the web browser.

An access request processing method is performed by a computer device that includes a processor, a dynamic random-access memory (DRAM), and a non-volatile memory (NVM). When receiving a write request, the processor may identify an object cache page according to the write request. The processor obtains the to-be-written data from a buffer according to a buffer pointer in the write request, the to-be-written data including a new data chunk to be written into the object cache page. The processor then inserts a new data node into a log chain of the object cache page, where the NVM stores data representing the log chain of the object cache page. The new data node includes information regarding the new data chunk of the object cache page. The computer device provided in this application can reduce system overheads while protecting data consistency.

Enabling high availability in server SAN enabled storage box

A computer system has a first node including a first baseboard management controller (BMC) and a first host of the first BMC. The first node determines that the first node is an active node. The first node operates a first storage service at the first host. The first host is a first storage device connected to one or more storage drives. The first storage service manages a first Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA) controller for accessing user data stored on the one or more storage drives. The first node indicates to a second node that the first node is operating normally. The first node syncs data available on the first node with the second node.

A method is provided, comprising: receiving, at a first storage array, a first request to perform an atomic write operation at a specified address in a volume; placing a read-write lock on a first instance of the volume, and executing the atomic write operation on the first instance of the volume; transmitting, to a second storage array, a second request to perform the atomic write operation on a second instance of the volume; and detecting whether an error condition is present that is associated with the second request; when the error condition is present, comparing a first data item that is stored at the specified address in the first instance of the volume with a second data item that is stored at the specified address in the second instance of the volume, and, when the first data item matches the second data item, transmitting an acknowledgment.
