A lifting mechanism for a foldable ramp may include a swivel lifting arm being biased in a passive position of the foldable ramp and being activatable for releasing and transmitting its bias into a lifting force on the foldable ramp. The foldable ramp may be for providing wheelchair access to a passenger car rear door. The foldable ramp can be swivelled between several positions including a passive position in which the foldable ramp is arranged in the car in a lying position.

Lifting system and vehicle including a lifting system

A lifting system includes a top plate, a bottom plate and N pairs of hinged plates. The N pairs of hinged plates are connected by 2N pairs of hinges to N sides of the top plate and the bottom plate, where N is an integer greater than 2. A bladder is arranged between the top plate and the bottom plate and between inner edges of the N pairs of hinged plates.

A ramp assembly for use to accommodate a wheel-chaired passenger to enter or exit a motorized vehicle includes a ramp body having a length defined along a longitudinal direction, a first side rail pivotably coupled to the ramp body, a second side rail pivotably coupled to the ramp body, and a hinge plate pivotably coupled to the ramp body. The ramp assembly further includes a first arm and a second arm coupled to a bottom surface of the ramp body. The first side rail and second side rail are pivotably moved between a folded position in which the first and second side rails pivot inwardly and a raised position in which the side rails are oriented perpendicular to the ramp body. The first arm operably pivots the first side rail between its folded and raised position, and the second arm operably pivots the second side rail between its folded and raised position.

VEHICLE WHEELCHAIR LOADING

A system for a vehicle includes a LIDAR sensor attachable to the vehicle and a puddle lamp fixed relative to the LIDAR sensor and oriented to project a light projection downward beside the vehicle. A computer may be in communication with the LIDAR sensor and the puddle lamp and programmed to actuate the puddle lamp in response to receiving data generated by the LIDAR sensor indicating a user positioned within a threshold distance of the vehicle.
