System and method for optimizing DRAM bus switching using LLC
The present disclosure relates to a system and method for optimizing switching of a DRAM bus using LLC. An embodiment of the disclosure includes sending a first type request from a first type queue to the second memory via the memory bus if a direction setting of the memory bus is in a first direction corresponding to the first type request, decrementing a current direction credit count by a first type transaction decrement value, if the decremented current direction credit count is greater than zero, sending another first type request to the second memory via the memory bus and decrementing the current direction credit count again by the first type transaction decrement value, and if the decremented current direction credit count is zero, switching the direction setting of the memory bus to a second direction and resetting the current direction credit count to a second type initial value.

Input/output patterns and data pre-fetch
Systems and methods for determining an access pattern in a computing system. Accesses to a file may contain random accesses and sequential accesses. The file may be divided into multiple regions and the accesses to each region are tracked. The access pattern for each region can then be determined independently of the access patterns of other regions of the file.

Security aware prefetch mechanism
An apparatus to facilitate data cache security is disclosed. The apparatus includes a cache memory to store data; and prefetch hardware to pre-fetch data to be stored in the cache memory, including a cache set monitor hardware to determine critical cache addresses to monitor to determine processes that retrieve data from the cache memory; and pattern monitor hardware to monitor cache access patterns to the critical cache addresses to detect potential side-channel cache attacks on the cache memory by an attacker process.
Extended cache for efficient object store access by a database
Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for utilizing an extended cache to access an object store efficiently. An embodiment operates by executing a database transaction, thereby causing pages to be written from a buffer cache to an extended cache and to an object store. The embodiment determines a transaction type of the database transaction. The transaction type can a read-only transaction or an update transaction. The embodiment determines a phase of the database transaction based on the determined transaction type. The phase can be an execution phase or a commit phase. The embodiment then applies a caching policy to the extended cache for the evicted pages based on the determined transaction type of the database transaction and the determined phase of the database transaction.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ADAPTIVE HYBRID HARDWARE PRE-FETCH
An apparatus includes a processor core and a memory hierarchy. The memory hierarchy includes main memory and one or more caches between the main memory and the processor core. A plurality of hardware pre-fetchers are coupled to the memory hierarchy and a pre-fetch control circuit is coupled to the plurality of hardware pre-fetchers. The pre-fetch control circuit is configured to compare changes in one or more cache performance metrics over two or more sampling intervals and control operation of the plurality of hardware pre-fetchers in response to a change in one or more performance metrics between at least a first sampling interval and a second sampling interval.

Streaming engine with early and late address and loop count registers to track architectural state
A streaming engine employed in a digital data processor specifies a fixed read only data stream defined by plural nested loops. An address generator produces address of data elements. A steam head register stores data elements next to be supplied to functional units for use as operands. The streaming engine stores an early address of next to be fetched data elements and a late address of a data element in the stream head register for each of the nested loops. The streaming engine stores an early loop counts of next to be fetched data elements and a late loop counts of a data element in the stream head register for each of the nested loops.
