DIE-TO-DIE INTERCONNECT PROTOCOL LAYER

Protocol layer logic in a protocol stack receives an indication that a particular mode is to be utilized on a die-to-die (D2D) link connecting a first device to a second device. The protocol layer logic generates data to be sent on the D2D link to adapt the particular data format to a flit format defined for use on the D2D link in the particular mode, the flit format comprises providing a set of reserved fields to be completed by an adapter block positioned between the protocol circuitry and a physical layer block. The data in the flit format is sent to the data to the adapter block to prepare the data for transmission over the D2D link.

Hot-swappable protocol expander module for storage array

A data storage array has a backplane at the base of an enclosure. A plurality of data storage drives are coupled to connectors of the backplane. A hot-swappable protocol expander module is coupled between the drives and the backplane through a top of the enclosure or to the backplane through a side of the enclosure.

INTEGRATED CIRCUIT DEVICE WITH CROSSBAR TO ROUTE TRAFFIC

An integrated circuit (IC) device according to an example includes an interconnect bus to communicate with an external memory device, wherein the interconnect bus includes a plurality of different channels to be coupled directly to a first set of masters. The IC device includes a crossbar unit to be coupled to a second set of masters, wherein the crossbar unit is to monitor bandwidth usage at the plurality of different channels, and selectively route traffic between the second set of masters and the plurality of different channels based on the monitored bandwidth usage.

Processor socket bridge for input/output extension

Presented herein are improvement to computer system architecture. In one embodiment, a method includes reconfiguring system interconnect links disposed between a first central processing unit socket and a second central processing unit socket, disposed together on a single motherboard, as peripheral bus links; and transmitting electrical signals, via the peripheral bus links, and via a printed circuit board that bridges the second central processing unit socket, to at least one input/output functional block that is disposed on the single motherboard and that is selectively connectable to the second central processing unit socket.

MODULAR INTERFACE PATCH PANEL

Configurations for interface panels are disclosed. In at least one embodiment, an interface panel includes removable receptacles to provide communication to rack components.

A card-type storage device includes a processing chip and a memory module. The processing chip is selectively operated in a data accessing mode or a data uploading mode. The memory module is electrically connected with the processing chip. A first data set generated by the medical device at a first time point and a second data set generated by the medical device at a second time point are stored in the memory module. In the data accessing mode, a first storage list is established by the processing chip according to the first data set, and the first storage list is updated as a second storage list according to the second data set. If the processing chip judges that the second data set satisfies a predetermined condition, the processing chip enters the data uploading mode.

Connectors with audible feedback and contact protection

Connector receptacles that can provide audible feedback to inform a user that a card has been properly inserted, and can include structures to protect contacts in a connector receptacle from damage due to an improper card insertion. An example can provide a connector receptacle having a click module to provide audible feedback indicating that a card has been fully inserted. Another example can provide a connector receptacle having movable contacts that can remain out of an insertion path until the card is at least partially inserted.

METHOD OF AUTOMATIC IDENTIFICATION AND PROTECTION OF CORRECT PCIE CONFIGURATION OF A SERVER AND SERVER APPLYING THE METHOD

A method of automatic identification of PCIe configuration of a server and preventing operation if each slimline connector connected with a PCIe device is found connected to an incorrect slot of a mother board utilizes a combination of first and second signals of two null interfaces of the first connector as that ID signal and a combination of third and fourth signals of the two interfaces of a second connector as that ID signal. The CPLD receiving the ID signals detects whether the first and second slimline connectors are in their specified and correct slots. Powering on of computer is not permitted if incorrect connection is found, and a warning prompt is generated. A PCIe channel width for each slimline is automatically configured if no incorrect connection is found. A server applying the method is also disclosed.

BIDIRECTIONAL LANE ROUTING
