Recovery point determination for data restoration in a storage system
An illustrative method includes a data protection system detecting, for a storage system, a potential data corruption in the storage system, analyzing, in response to the detecting of the potential data corruption, one or more metrics of the storage system, and determining, based on the analyzing of the one or more metrics of the storage system, a corruption-free recovery point for potential use to recover from the potential data corruption.
Centralized retention and backup deletions
Systems and methods for deleting backup pieces associated with an application such as a database application. Backup pieces are identified and deleted from the database records and from the backup application.
ARCHIVE CENTER FOR CONTENT MANAGEMENT
Content is captured and archived at an archive center (AC) and, depending upon records management (RM) policy, is managed by the AC or under RM control by a content server (CS). Both the AC and CS may be part of an enterprise content management system. The AC provides a user-friendly interface through which retention zones may be defined, and functionality for applying RM policy. The functionality can be triggered via a specific content property or through a retention zone under RM control. The RM control can be turned on or off from within the AC using the user-friendly interface. Archived content is not moved or duplicated. Rather, metadata and a link to the storage location are sent to the CS which, in turn, creates a content server document that is linked to the archived content. Only a portion of archived content is exposed to the CS through the AC.
IMMUTABLE PROTECTION OF SOFTWARE AND/OR COMPUTING HARDWARE TESTING DATA
Disclosed is a method, a device, a system and/or a manufacture of immutable protection of software and/or computing hardware testing data. In one embodiment, a method for immutably securing testing data includes initiating an operation filesystem to operate from and copying a software application and/or computer hardware design to define a workspace data. A test script is selected and executed. The method provides input data including the testing data to a hash function. The testing data may include the result data. A hash value from the hash function is generated that is uniquely determined based on the input data. A blockchain transaction is generated that includes the hash value. The hash value is submitted to a node of a blockchain network that includes a distributed network of two or more nodes maintaining a ledger database reconciled through a consensus mechanism to immutably protect the testing data.
IMMUTABLE SNAPSHOT COPIES STORED IN WRITE ONCE READ MANY (WORM) STORAGE
Techniques are provided for storing immutable snapshot copes in write once read many (WORM) storage. A snapshot of a volume may be stored into one or more objects formatted according to an object format. An expiry time may be assigned to the snapshot and the one or more objects based upon a creation time of the snapshot and a retention time. The one or more objects may be stored within a remote object store. The one or more objects are retained in an immutable state and cannot be deleted until expiration of the expiry time. In response to identifying an existing object within the remote object store comprising shared snapshot data referenced by the snapshot, an assigned expiry time of the existing object may be modified based upon the expiry time of the snapshot to create a modified expiry time for the existing object.
Content fabric for a distributed file system
A method, article of manufacture, and apparatus for providing content services on a distributed file system is discussed. These services may be applied to files, data blocks, and/or metadata. A content fabric that resides within or sits along side the distributed file system may apply the services.
SUGGESTING IMAGE FILES FOR DELETION BASED ON IMAGE FILE PARAMETERS
The present disclosure describes a system and method to manage image file storage that includes a memory device to store instructions and at least one processing device to execute the instructions stored in the memory device to determine a blur indication or a burst characteristic for each of a plurality of files stored on a storage medium, automatically identify candidate image files to delete based at least in part on the blur indication or the burst characteristic, and delete at least some of the candidate image files based on receiving a delete indication.
Maintaining point-in-time granularity for backup snapshots
A method and system for maintaining granular backups is discussed. Backup windows may be defined, and policies may be associated with those windows. Journal and backup files may be retained or deleted in accordance with those policies.
APPARATUSES, METHODS, AND COMPUTER PROGRAM PRODUCTS FOR DATA RETENTION IN A COMMON GROUP-BASED COMMUNICATION CHANNEL
Embodiments described herein include apparatuses, computer program products, and methods for data management in a group-based communication system. Specifically, some embodiments address data management for group-based communication channel(s) accessible to any number of entities based on various data retention policies. In this regard, embodiments enable maintenance of data associated with multiple organizations accessing a group-based communication channel based on a single, shared data retention policy, or different data retention policies, for example based on authorship of the group-based communication message. In embodiments, a data retention policy may be assigned directly to an entity, or assigned to a higher-level or lower-level entity and function as a default data a retention policy for other entities associated therewith. A group-based communication system is configured to enable storage of data based on corresponding data retention policies for each organization identifier, and/or an agreed data retention policy for all organization identifiers.
Method, System for Automatic Monitoring, Control of Compliance of Operations of Smart-City Infrastructure in Real-Time
The present disclosure provides method and system for automatic monitoring and control of compliance of one or more operations of smart city infrastructure in real-time. Compliance management system detects conflict initiated by compliance violation of one or more operations related to plurality of registered participants of smart city infrastructure. The compliance management system identifies policies associated with compliance of one or more operations and determines criticality of compliance of one or more operations based on one or more policies. The compliance management system determines relationship among compliance of one or more operations based on interdependencies among the operations. Further, the compliance management system generates action plan based on availability of one or more resources corresponding to compliance of one or more operations in real-time and relationship. Finally, the compliance management system monitors execution action plan to remove the conflict and achieve compliance of one or more operations based on criticality.
