File system warnings application programing interface (API)
The present technology pertains to a organization directory hosted by a synchronized content management system. The corporate directory can provide access to user accounts for all members of the organization to all content items in the organization directory on the respective file systems of the members' client devices. Members can reach any content item at the same path as other members relative to the organization directory root on their respective client device. In some embodiments novel access permissions are granted to maintain path consistency.
Compression system with longest match processing for generating compressed data
An electronic device, including a compression subsystem with a comparator, a history buffer, a match detector, and a command generator, performs operations for generating compressed data from original data. The compression subsystem, starting in each cycle of a clock, processes a search string that is copied from original data to generate commands for compressed data. For processing each search string, the comparator compares each of N substrings from the search string with stored data from the history buffer to find matches between the substrings and the stored data. The match detector then determines a longest match for each of the substrings. The command generator next selectively outputs commands for the compressed data based on the longest matches for the substrings.
Data ingestion system
A device automatically extracts a data file from an upstream source based on ingestion parameters. The data file is in a first format that is not readable by a downstream data analysis utility and includes a plurality of data records. Each record includes one or more entries. The ingestion parameters include a file identifier, transformation instructions, and storage instructions for the extracted data file. The device generates table(s) based on the extracted data file by, determining, based on the transformation instructions, a table in which to store each entry and a row and column of the determined table in which to store the entry. Entries are input into the determined tables, rows, and columns. The table(s) are stored in a second format that is readable by the downstream data analysis utility.
Apparatus and method for representation of a sparse matrix in a neural network
The present disclosure relates to a method and an apparatus for representation of a sparse matrix in a neural network. In some embodiments, an exemplary operation unit includes a buffer for storing a representation of a sparse matrix in a neural network, a sparse engine communicatively coupled with the buffer, and a processing array communicatively coupled with the sparse engine. The sparse engine includes circuitry to: read the representation of the sparse matrix from the buffer, the representation comprising a first level bitmap, a second level bitmap, and an element array; decompress the first level bitmap to determine whether a block of the sparse matrix comprises a non-zero element; and in response to the block comprising a non-zero element, decompress the second level bitmap using the element array to obtain the block of the sparse matrix. The processing array includes circuitry to execute the neural network with the sparse matrix.
Hardware-implemented file reader
A hardware-implemented file reader includes an interface, multiple hardware-implemented column readers and a hardware-implemented record reconstructor. The interface is configured to access a file including multiple records. The records store values in accordance with a nested structure that supports optional values and repeated values. The file is stored in a columnar format having multiple columns, each column storing (i) compressed values and (ii) corresponding compressed structure information that associates the values in the column to the nested structure of the records. Each column reader is configured to be assigned to a respective selected column, and to read and decompress both the values and the structure information from at least a portion of the selected column. The record reconstructor is configured to reconstruct one or more of the records from at least portions of the columns that are read by the column readers, and to output the reconstructed records.
System and method for file system metadata file region segmentation for deduplication
A method for managing file based backups (FBBs) includes obtaining, by a backup agent, a backup request for a FBB, in response to the backup request, generating a FBB, generating a FBB metadata file corresponding to the FBB, wherein the FBB metadata file comprises a set of attribute regions, performing, using the set of attribute regions, a deduplication on the FBB metadata file to obtain a deduplicated FBB metadata file, and storing the deduplicated FBB metadata file in a backup storage system.
Smart rollover
A system and method, including determining, by a processor, a data type for each column of a database table; determining, by the processor and based on the determined data type for each column of the database table, an indication of a size of the database table; calculating, by the processor and based on the determined indication of the size of the database table, a start nbit size for a nbit compression process to be used on the database table; specifying, by the processor, the calculated start nbit size for the nbit compression process; and compressing the database table by executing the nbit data compression process using the specified start nbit size.
Partial Decompression For Rapid File or Sub-File Access
Embodiments of the present disclosure provide systems and methods for reverse decompression. According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, the method for reverse decompression includes receiving encoded and compressed input data in a form of one or more data blocks and locating an end of block marker for a last block of the one or more data blocks of the input data. The method also includes traversing the input data, bit by bit, in a reverse direction starting from a last bit of the end of block marker of the last block of the one or more data blocks of the input data towards a beginning of the input data, determining if one block of the one or more blocks of the input data can be designated as a valid block, designating the one block as a valid block and decompressing the valid block in a forward direction.
COMPRESSION TECHNIQUES FOR SHARED FILES
A computing system may receive, from a client device, data associated with a file to be uploaded to the computing system, and may determine, based at least in part on the received data, a recommended compression technique to be used on the file. The computing system may send an indication of the recommended compression technique to the client device. The computing system may receive, from the client device, a version of the file that is compressed in accordance with the recommended compression technique.
