Wheelchair
A front wheel drive powered wheelchair is provided and may include a support frame, a pair of opposing drive wheels, a pair of drives, and a pair of rear wheels. The frame may include a front portion, a seat post, and two independent arms extending rearward from the front portion. Each drive wheel may be coupled to the front portion of the frame. Each drive may be mounted to the front portion of the frame and may be operatively connected to a respective drive wheel of the pair of drive wheels. Each rear wheel may be coupled to a respective independent arm of the support frame. Each independent arm may be capable of flexing independent of the other.
Traveling vehicle and method of controlling the traveling vehicle
When a vehicle body is on board an escalator, a control device makes an ejection determination by use of an external sensor. The control device makes an ejection determination by use of front-wheel rotation sensors. The control device makes an ejection determination by use of an inclination detecting unit. The control device switches a control mode from a boarding control mode to an ejection control mode, when at least one of the above three ejection determinations is affirmatively made.
SYSTEM AND METHODS FOR SENSOR INTEGRATION IN SUPPORT OF SITUATIONAL AWARENESS FOR A MOTORIZED MOBILE SYSTEM
A system and method for providing safety for a motorized mobile system (MMS) are optimized for accurate object detection, the system comprising at least two sensors that are operably configured to generate one or more of a range measurement and a bearing measurement to an object in a field-of-view of the sensors, wherein the range and bearing measurements have associated uncertainties.
Chassis arrangement for an electrically powered wheelchair and an electrically powered wheelchair comprising the same
The present disclosure relates to a chassis arrangement (1) for an electrically powered wheelchair (35). The chassis arrangement (1) comprises a main chassis member (3) having a first side panel (3a) defining a first side of the main chassis member (3), and a second side panel (3b) defining a second side of the main chassis member (3), the second side being opposite to the first side, wherein each of the first side panel (3a) and the second side panel (3b) has spring attachment arrangements (3g, 3h) for attachment of spring assemblies (9a, 9b, 11a, 11b), wherein each of the first side panel (3a) and the second side panel (3b) has pivot arm attachment arrangements (3e, 3f) for attachment of pivot arms (5a, 5b, 7a, 7b), wherein the main chassis member (3) has a torsional stiffness greater than 1200 Nm/degree. An electrically powered wheelchair comprising a chassis arrangement (1) is also presented herein.
CONFIGURABLE ASSISTIVE DEVICE
A configurable assistive device comprising: a platform; at least three wheels; and, at least three independent leg mechanisms, each respective leg mechanism coupled to the platform and a respective one of the at least three wheels, each respective leg mechanism configured to move the platform relative to the respective wheel for positioning the platform at an elevation and for inclining the platform to an inclination to configure the assistive device into one of a plurality of configurations.
Elevated Height Wheelchair
Embodiments of the present disclosure include a wheelchair configured to reposition an occupant between a lowered and a raised position. The wheelchair can include a frame, a seat moveable relative to the frame, a drive wheel, and one or more pairs of arm assemblies. The arm assembly includes a wheel configured to move from a first spatial location when the wheel chair is operating on flat, level ground to a second spatial location that is different than the first spatial location. Arm limiters that can selectively engage the arm assembly dependent on the position of the arm assembly and surface conditions of ground and can limit the range of motion of the arm assembly and sometimes other operational aspects of the chair.
Standing wheelchair
A standing wheelchair device includes a wheeled base for enabling the device to move on a supporting surface. A harness assembly includes a plurality of braces for attaching to parts of a body of a user of the device, at least some adjacent braces of being connected by joints. A lifting unit mounted on the base, supports a hip joint of the harness assembly, and is configured to raise or lower the hip joint. When the user is attached to the harness assembly and is in a sitting position, raising a height of the hip joint causes the user to assume a standing position. When the when the user is attached to the harness assembly and is in a standing position, lowering the hip joint causes the user to assume a sitting or reclining position.
WHEELCHAIR SUSPENSION
Wheeled vehicles, such as wheelchairs, that are adapted to traverse obstacles are provided. The wheeled vehicles include a frame, drive wheels, front anti-tip wheels positioned in front of the drive wheels and rear anti-tip wheels positioned behind the drive wheels. One exemplary vehicle includes front anti-tip wheels supported by rigid arms that are fixed to the frame and drive assemblies that are independently suspended from the frame. Another exemplary vehicle includes a linkage that links the front and rear anti-tip wheels, such that movement of one of the front or rear anti-tip wheel relative to the frame causes movement of the other wheel relative to the frame.
Elevated Height Wheelchair
The present disclosure includes a wheelchair configured to reposition an occupant between a lowered and a raised position. The wheelchair can include a frame, a seat moveable relative to the frame, a drive wheel, one or more pairs of arm assemblies, and one or more sensors. The arm assembly includes a wheel configured to move from a first spatial location when the wheelchair is operating on flat, level ground to a second spatial location that is different than the first spatial location. Arm limiters can selectively engage the arm assembly based on at least one of a seat position, position of the arm assembly, and surface conditions of ground surface. The arm limiters can limit the range of motion of the arm assembly and sometimes other operational aspects of the chair.
Powered Pedestrian Apparatus
The invention relates to an apparatus that can be used by people who are either restricted in their movements by allowing them to transit locations either in a sitting or standing position with simple hand controls to increase their mobility. The apparatus is further useful for those needing to travel long distances to retrieve objects, bring repair or maintenance personnel to their assigned task with their equipment in an office or warehouse environment. Safety features include the ability to transit through normally experienced hazards of speed bumps, dips and valleys of parking lots and sidewalks without the fear of pitching forward. Furthermore, the apparatus is used by those of limited movement who require assistance getting up from chairs or toilets or prone positions on a bed, where the apparatus is capable of raising the person into the apparatus while moving the center of gravity towards themselves preventing the pitching of the apparatus into themselves.
