Modular power base arrangement
A wheelchair assembly including a control device, a power base, and a plurality of leg modules coupled to the power base is disclosed. Each of a first, a second, and a third leg module may include an upper leg assembly and a lower leg assembly. Each lower leg assembly may include a knee joint and a foot joint and each lower leg assembly may rotatably couple to each upper leg assembly at the knee joint. A knee wheel located at the knee joint of each lower leg assembly, may include an omni-directional wheel, and may be selectively drivable. A foot wheel located at the foot joint of each lower leg assembly may be selectively drivable. The control device, based on a selectable mode of operation, may selectively position at least one of the knee wheel or the foot wheel associated with each respective leg module relative to a surface.
Mass transit for personal vehicles
A system includes a platform designed to mechanically support a plurality of personal vehicles. The system also includes a power source coupled to the platform and designed to at least one of store or generate power to propel the platform. The system also includes an actuator coupled to the platform and designed to facilitate transfer of the plurality of personal vehicles from a ground surface to the platform. The system also includes a plurality of transmitters each coupled to the platform and designed to transmit an electrical charge to an energy storage device of one of the plurality of personal vehicles. The system also includes a platform electronic control unit (ECU) coupled to the power source and the plurality of transmitters and designed to control the power source to transmit at least some of the power to, the plurality of personal vehicles via the plurality of transmitters.
Wheelchair suspension
Wheeled vehicles, such as wheelchairs, that are adapted to traverse obstacles are provided. The wheeled vehicles include a frame, drive wheels, front anti-tip wheels positioned in front of the drive wheels and rear anti-tip wheels positioned behind the drive wheels. One exemplary vehicle includes front anti-tip wheels supported by rigid arms that are fixed to the frame and drive assemblies that are independently suspended from the frame. Another exemplary vehicle includes a linkage that links the front and rear anti-tip wheels, such that movement of one of the front or rear anti-tip wheel relative to the frame causes movement of the other wheel relative to the frame.
Walker-shaped hoverboard attachment
A walker-shaped hoverboard attachment provides a center platform having a cavity and a rim around the cavity configured to rest on either side of a hoverboard's upper surface. Support rails and crossbars collectively configured as a walker may be fixedly connected to the platform. One or more brakes on one or more grips may enable a user to control the hoverboard while a user is standing on the platform.
Motorized chair
A mobility chair has a base frame with a seat bottom, a seatback, motorized drive wheels, and safety wheels, an actuated hoist with a mast, boom, winch, and sling that has a stowed configuration and an operative configuration, and outriggers that have a retracted configuration proximate to the base frame and an extended configuration ahead of the mobility chair. The boom is raised and its forward portion is rotated ahead of the frontmost section of the seat while its rear portion remains behind the boom. The seatback can be raised from the base frame and can also be hingedly connected to the seat bottom which rotates relative to the base frame through a bracket in the front section so that as the seatback is raised, the seat bottom rotates with the seatback into an upright standing configuration with the seat bottom aligned with the seatback in the vertical orientation.
POWERED MIDWHEEL DRIVE WHEELCHAIR WITH STANDING CAPABILITY
A powered midwheel drive wheelchair includes a chassis, a seating system attached to the chassis, the seating system configured to move between a seated position and a standing position, a pair of drive wheels, a pair of front swing arms pivotally connected to the chassis, and front support wheels attached to a respective one of the front swing arms, wherein each front swing arm is configured to pivot relative to the chassis between a first position, where the front support wheel is at its uppermost position in relation to the chassis, and a second position, where the front support wheel is at its lowermost position in relation to the chassis, and wherein the front swing arms are configured to pivot to the first position in response to the seating system transitioning to the standing position, whereby the chassis is configured to tilt forward in relation to the floor surface.
MOBILITY ASSISTANCE DEVICE
A mobility assistance apparatus includes first and second frames positioned on left and right sides of a user; a hinge arm mechanism coupled to the first and second frames; and a pivotable securing unit or a walking seat coupled to the frames to transfer at least a portion of the user's body weight from the legs and to transfer weight through the user's hip or pelvis to the first and second frame enabling the user to stand or work for an extended period without requiring the user's arms to hold the frame.
STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM
Embodiments of a suspension for a vehicle is provided. The suspension includes, for example, a frame and a locking assembly. The locking assembly inhibits tipping of a frame of the vehicle when tipping of the frame is detected.
POWER TRANSMISSION DEVICE
A power transmission device configured to transmit a power inputted thereto from a motor to a wheel is disclosed. The power transmission device includes a first support member, a first gear, a second support member attached to the first support member, a second gear, and an adjustment mechanism. The first gear is supported by the first support member, and configured to rotate about a first axis. The second gear is supported by the second support member, meshed with the first gear, and configured to rotate about a second axis. The second axis is approachable to and separable from the first axis. The adjustment mechanism is configured to adjust a distance between the first axis and the second axis.
