Aspects of the technology described herein provide a more efficient user interface by providing suggestions that are tailored to a specific user's interests. The suggestions may be provided by a personal assistant or some other application running on a user's computing device. A goal of the technology described herein is to provide relevant suggestions when the user can and actually wants to use them. The suggestions are designed to provide information or services the user wants to use.

Multiple geographic grids are generated according to acquired location information of a service provider. Each geographic grid contains one or more service providers. The second region matching the target location information is a geographic grid for a region defined by the target location information. A presentation request for a search page is received. The presentation request includes target location information. A keyword is acquired that has a search popularity meeting a first condition in a first region matching the target location information, and the acquired keyword is used as a first keyword. The first keyword is provided for presentation in the search page.

A method and system is disclosed that generates a dictionary of terms comprising terms associated with games of a collaboration platform. The method further identifies search terms associated with previous search queries. The method compares the search terms with the terms of the dictionary to determine whether the search terms associated with the previous search queries are in the dictionary of terms. The method identifies a first set of the search terms that are candidates to receive search suggestions and a second set of the search terms that are to be the search suggestions based on the comparison. The method also generates a record that associates candidate search terms of the first set of the search terms with respective search suggestions of the second set of the search terms. The record is used to provide a search suggestion for a search term of a new search query.

Methods, systems and programming for providing query suggestions including entities. In one example, a prefix of a query is first received. A plurality of query suggestions are then identified based on the prefix of the query. The plurality of query suggestions include at least one entity. Scores of each of the plurality of query suggestions are computed using a first model. The first model includes an adjustable parameter used for computing the score of the at least one entity. The plurality of question suggestions are ranked based, at least in part, on the scores.

Methods, systems and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for disambiguating names in a document corpus. In an aspect, a method includes generating context term lists for a person name, each context term list being a list of context terms from a resource for the person name; clustering the context term lists into a plurality of clusters, each of the clusters of context term lists including context term lists that are most similar to the cluster relative to other clusters; for each of the clusters, selecting a representative term for the cluster; receiving the person name as a search query; and generating a plurality of query suggestions from the search query and the representative terms for the clusters, each query suggesting being a combination of the person name and one representative term.

Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, modifying queries based on non-textual content. In one aspect, a method includes receiving, from a user device, a query including a plurality of terms; determining active non-textual data displayed in an application environment on the user device; determining, from the non-textual textual data, modification data for the query; generating a set of modified queries based on the query and the modification parameters; scoring the modified queries according to one or more scoring criteria; selecting one of the modified queries based on the scoring; and providing, to the user device, search results responsive to the selected modified query.

Provided are an integrated multilingual consonant pattern search method and apparatus for extracting original strings, in correspondence with a number that is small compared to that of a conventional technology, as a search result and displaying the search result, by inputting a consonant pattern which is formed of a plurality of consonants, with respect to an original string list that is pre-stored in a database in a language written with a phonogram in which an initial consonant and a final consonant are distinguished from each other. Provided are also a method and apparatus for generating a character input unit for inputting consonant characters to be searched fast with a low typing error rate, by using the integrated multilingual consonant pattern search method.

Disclosed herein are techniques related to automated generation of regular expressions. In some embodiments, a regular expression generator may receive input data comprising one or more character sequences. The regular expression generator may convert character sequences into a sets of regular expression codes and/or span data structures. The regular expression generator may identify a longest common subsequence shared by the sets of regular expression codes and/or spans, and may generate a regular expression based upon the longest common subsequence.

Autocompleting into an invite box for purposes of sharing an executable computing resource such as an application or portion thereof. However, the autocomplete is populated with potential sharees of multiple tenants or with identities that are not registered with the tenant directory of the user. Thus, potentially any potentially sharee worldwide may be populated within the list of potential sharees. As the desired potential sharee comes into view, that potential sharee may be selected, and added to a list of one or more selected sharees. At some point, a control may be selected to allow the executable computing resource to be shared with the selected sharees within the list.

Methods and apparatus for ranking suggestions for input of a user based on one or more attributes of the user that are associated with one or more of the suggestions. User attributes of the user's user profile may be matched to user attributes of a suggestion and the suggestion ranked based at least in part on bias measures associated with the matched user attributes of the suggestion. Some implementations are directed to determining, for each of a plurality of suggestions, multiple user attributes and associated bias measures to associate with the suggestion.
