MEDIA SELECTION
Systems, device and techniques are disclosed for receiving a first taste profile of a first user based on at least a first profile criteria and receiving a second taste profile of a second user based on at least a second profile criteria. An area of interest may be determined based on the first and second taste profiles. A playlist containing one or more media items (e.g., audio, video, text, etc.) may be generated based on the determined area of interest.
Entertainment server and associated social networking services
Certain exemplary embodiments relate to entertainment systems that interact with users so as to provide for social networking and/or other services. In certain exemplary embodiments, an entertainment system is configured to provide jukebox-related and entertainment system mediated services that are accessible from within and from the outside of the location, coordinating social networking services among and between patrons within and outside of the location and also providing for advertisement opportunities. In certain exemplary embodiments, the entertainment system within a location may serve as and/or be connected to a jukebox. The entertainment system within the location may be connected to one or more client devices, one or more displays, one or more bar-top or hand-held gaming devices, etc., in certain exemplary embodiments. The jukebox-related and entertainment system mediated services may provide mechanisms for enhancing patrons' experiences, creating a sense of ownership and/or belongingness to a connected community of entertainment system users.
METHODS AND APPARATUS TO GENERATE RECOMMENDATIONS BASED ON ATTRIBUTE VECTORS
Methods and apparatus are disclosed to generate a recommendation, including an attribute vector aggregator to form a resultant attribute vector based on an input set of attribute vectors, the set of attribute vectors containing at least one of a media attribute vector, an attendee attribute vector, an artist attribute vector, an event attribute vector, or a venue attribute vector, and a recommendation generator, the recommendation generator including: a vector comparator to perform a comparison between an input attribute vector and other attribute vectors and a recommendation compiler to create one or more recommendations of at least one of media, an artist, an event, or a venue based on the comparison.
Method, system and computer program product for navigating digital media content
The field of the invention relates to methods, systems and computer program products for navigating digital media content, in particular for navigating digital media content using an interface abstracted from that digital media content instead of, or as a supplement to, traditional user interface controls. There is provided a method for presenting a user interface to an end user to facilitate the searching, browsing and/or navigation of digital media content, the method comprising the steps of: (a) analysing the digital media content to create “hooks” related to the digital media content, or retrieving “hooks” in the digital media content, and (b) replacing or augmenting a graphical or textual representation of the digital media content with the “hooks.”
Method for sharing and searching playlists
A system that provides for the accessing and playing of media files having differing associated rights such as non-DRM media files, purchased and downloaded media files, subscription download files such as tethered downloads, and subscription streamed DRM files. The system also provides a method and user interface for sharing a media collection among computing devices in communication via a network. The system allows access and playback, from each computing device on a network, of all media files in a media collection, regardless of their associated rights.
THERAPEUTIC MUSIC AND MEDIA PROCESSING SYSTEM
Systems, methods, architectures, mechanisms and apparatus for generating an audio segment playlist configured to provoke a physiological response in a listener in accordance with a desired outcome category, comprising: selecting, from a features database, a plurality of audio segments having features associated with both listener information and the desired outcome category; and ordering within the playlist at least a portion of the selected audio segments in accordance with at least one feature progression associated with the outcome category.
Mobile device selection of preferred content
A user of a mobile device can specify particular news, weather, traffic, or other perishable content received on a particular Internet radio station or other media channel received by the mobile device. The user can customize the station so that wherever the user is currently located, they can receive on their mobile device perishable content related to a preferred geographic location or other category. In some embodiments, a user can specify that a customized station plays local news from one city at the top of the hour, traffic from another city at 10 minutes past the hour, and music or other content at other times. The user can also customize original content from the personal libraries of specified users. Thus, a user can customize not only the genre of content or select a particular local station, but can also modify the perishable content provided by the customized station.
Music recommendations from trending queries
A plurality of music playlists created on a content sharing platform and having rankings are identified. A plurality of popular external search queries submitted via one or more search engine platforms external to the content sharing platform are identified. A subset of the plurality of music playlists that matches any of the plurality of popular external search queries is determined, and rankings of the determined subset of music playlists are improved. The personalized music recommendations for the user are created based on rankings of the plurality of music playlists, and the personalized music recommendations are provided for presentation to the user.
Facilitating Streaming Media Access Via A Media-Item Database
Examples described herein relate to facilitating media item access via a media item database. For instance, a playlist may include audio tracks of a first streaming service (e.g., as uniform resource identifiers linking to streamable audio tracks). When a subscription to the first streaming service is not active, the playlist may be unplayable by a media playback system including a playback device. To play the playlist, a computing system may convert the playlist to audio tracks of a second streaming service and then send the converted playlist back to the media playback system for playback.
GEOLOCATION BASED PLAYLISTS
A data package is received from a plurality of devices. Each data package comprises audio content captured by a respective device from the plurality of devices. Each data package further comprises metadata including a location of the respective device when the audio content was captured and a time at which the audio content was captured. A subset of the data packages that include audio content captured within a specified geographic area and within a specified time period is identified based on the metadata. A playlist for the specified area and the specified time period is generated based on the subset of data packages. The playlist may be provided to at least a first device.
