Cable tension adjuster for height-adjustable wheeled vehicle
A cable tension adjuster for a manually operated, height-adjustable wheeled vehicle. The vehicle includes a brake assembly including a brake cable assembly and a brake cable housing shaped to enclose an excess portion of the brake cable assembly. The brake assembly includes a cable adjuster coupled to the brake cable assembly, where the cable adjuster is enclosed by the brake cable housing. The brake cable housing provides an access port to access the cable tension adjuster.
Brake system
A brake system for use with a wheeled device, such as a wheeled person transportation device, such as a wheelchair. The brake system comprises a handle comprising a first portion and a second portion, wherein the first portion is moveably coupled to the second portion; a carrier comprising an internal cavity; a brake actuator for actuating a brake, the brake actuator being arranged within the internal cavity; brake actuator biasing means for applying a biasing force to the brake actuator for biasing the brake actuator to a brake-engaged position; and force-transfer means coupled to the first portion and to the brake actuator such that movement of the first portion towards the second portion causes the brake actuator to move along the internal cavity of the carrier against the biasing force to a brake-disengaged position.
MOTORIZED ACCESSORY FOR A WHEELCHAIR
A motorized accessory for a wheelchair includes a housing having a top end and a bottom end, a handlebar assembly secured to the top end of the housing, and a wheel assembly coupled to the lower end of the housing. The motorized accessory also includes an electric motor coupled to the wheel assembly that is configured to drive the wheel assembly. In addition, the motorized accessory includes a tow bar assembly having a proximal end coupled to the housing and extending outward to a free distal end, where the free distal end is configured to be removably coupled to the wheelchair. The motorized accessory is configured to latch to the manually driven wheelchair in order to convert the manually driven wheelchair into a motorized wheelchair.
Propulsion attachment for a manual wheelchair
This relates to a propulsion attachment for a manual wheelchair and methods of operation. The propulsion attachment can include three wheels, a motor, a gearbox, and a handlebar. The propulsion attachment can attach to the footrest of the wheelchair using a pin. The motor can be located in the rear side of the propulsion attachment and can push the user in a forward direction. Alternatively, the user can manipulate a switch located on the handlebar to allow the propulsion attachment to pull the user in a reverse direction. The propulsion attachment can include a plurality of brakes, where each brake can control one of the wheels. Additionally, the propulsion attachment can operate at variable speeds using the motor and the power from one or both batteries.
WIRELESSLY CONTROLLED WHEELCHAIR ASSEMBLY WITH TOILET ACCESSIBILITY
A wirelessly controlled wheelchair assembly and method of operating thereof is described. The wheelchair assembly comprises a wheel driving unit, a seat edge and footrest lifting unit, a back-rest lifting unit and a seat retracting unit. The wheelchair assembly further comprises a microcontroller electronically coupled with the wheel driving unit, the seat edge and footrest lifting unit, the back-rest lifting unit and the seat retracting unit. The microcontroller is configured to execute a plurality of commands to wirelessly control the operating of the wheelchair. The plurality of commands comprises commands for displacing the wheelchair from a source location to a destination location, lifting the user to slightly detach from the seat, opening the seat by retracting the one or more panels of the seat to enable accessibility of a toilet, move the user in the downward direction and reversing the above steps to restore the user in normal sitting posture.
Robotic mobility device
A mobility device, including a base, a first omnidirectional wheel mounted at a first side of a forward portion of the base to rotate about a first axis, a second omnidirectional wheel mounted at a second side of the forward portion of the base to rotate about the first axis, a third wheel mounted at a rearward portion of the base to rotate about a second axis, a drive system to move the first omnidirectional wheel, the second omnidirectional wheel, and the third wheel according to input received indicating a desired motion of the mobility device, a seat for a user of the mobility device, and a linear actuator coupling the seat to the base to drive the adjustable seat in a vertical direction according to the input received indicating the desired motion of the mobility device.

MOTORIZED WHEELCHAIR FOR DISABLED OR ELDERLY USERS

A combination wheelchair-walker having an upper frame; a lower frame comprised of two arc-shaped members, in which each arch-shaped member is configured to extend from the front of the device to the back of the device, each of the two arc-shaped members having a front end and a rear end; two front wheels; two rear caster wheels, each of which is attached to the rear end of one of the two arc-shaped members; and two skids, each of which is attached to the front end of one of the two arc-shaped members. MEDICAL SUPPORT APPARATUS
A medical chair includes a base, a seat, and a leg rest pivotally mounted relative to the seat and adapted to move between an extended position and a retracted position. The chair further includes a first actuator for tilting the seat with respect to the base, a second actuator for lifting the seat with respect to the base, and a leg rest actuator adapted to move the leg rest. The chair also includes a controller adapted to control the first and second actuators to move the seat between a first position and a second position such that the seat is both lifted and tilted at the same time as the seat moves from the first position to the second position, and wherein the controller is adapted to control the leg rest actuator such that the leg rest maintains a substantially constant orientation with respect to the floor.
