The inflation-deflation apparatus is provided with an exhaust port, the exhaust port is provided in the airbag gap, and the inflation-deflation apparatus is configured to inflate and deflate the airbag cushion. For the airbag cushion assembly, the exhaust port is provided in the airbag gap, air exhausted by the airbag cushion takes away damp air accumulated between a patient and the airbag cushion, to reduce humidity of the contact area between the patient and the airbag cushion, thereby achieving a pressure sore prevention effect.

A SEATING SUPPORT

The invention provides a customizable seating support for a seat base that is particularly useful for supporting a physically disabled person in a chair, such as a wheelchair. The seating support includes a posterior portion and a pair of thigh supports that are connected to the posterior portion, via a multi-directional connection, so that the position of at least one thigh support is independently adjustable to tilt upwardly or downwardly or to pivot outwardly relative to the posterior portion to an abducted position. In some embodiments, at least one of the thigh supports may be configured to pivot inwardly relative to the posterior portion to an adducted position.

A mobile patient support chair to assist in bathing of a patient by a carer with little or no upper body strength comprises a chair pivotally mounted in a support frame comprised of four legs each ending in a wheel. The chair frame comprises groups of support panels which can be locked in support positions and rotated through 90 degrees to provide access to the patient's legs, buttocks and back. Additionally the chair is balanced to allow easy rotation into a fully backwards lying position, and a fully forward lying position. In the fully forward lying position flexible retaining strips are placed across the patient to retain them in place. Additionally the wheels may be step-climbing wheels to assist in climbing small steps found in bathroom entrances and shower cubicles.
