Reclining Chair with Multi-Axis Programmed Therapeutic Motion
The disclosed invention is a multi-motion chair with motorized movement that provides continuous therapeutic movement. The therapeutic chair utilizes multiple pivoting points for the back, seat, legs, and arms. Pivoting motors and linear actuators are installed at rotatable points of the chair and provide multiple ways of activating therapeutic motion. The therapeutic motion is directed by a programmable controller which can move the chair in a continuous motion automatically without additional input from the user and therefore helps to reduce joint and muscle stress or pain while seated for long periods of time.
Multifunction toilet wheelchair
A multifunction wheelchair, with fixed or folding frame, is described. The multifunction wheelchair is reconfigurable, by a transformation mechanism, between a normal use, ergonomic configuration and a roll-over-toilet configuration. This transformation involves raising the seat of the wheelchair, as needed, to position the wheelchair over the determined height of a toilet, and opening a seat closure mechanism to expose a cutout in the seat for toilet use. This transformation may be at least partially automated. In examples, the multifunction wheelchair is equipped with electronics (e.g., camera, microcontroller) to determine the toilet seat height for making height and/or steering adjustments. The transformation mechanism may be provided as a retrofit kit.
Assistive mobility device
An assistive mobility device comprising a seat and knee pad, the knee pad arranged to lift a person in a kneeling position into said seat and stabilize said person in said seat, maintaining supportive contact with the person's legs. The seat and knee pad each have an independent rotational tilt adjustment and can be raised and lowered together.
User Control Device for a Transporter
A user control device for a transporter. The user control device can communicate with the transporter via electrical interface(s) that can facilitate communication and data processing among the user interface device and controllers that can control the movement of the transporter. The user control device can perform automated actions based on the environment in which the transporter operates and the user's desired movement of the transporter. External applications can enable monitoring and control of the transporter.
Seating support
The invention provides a customizable seating support for a seat base that is particularly useful for supporting a physically disabled person in a chair, such as a wheelchair. The seating support includes a posterior portion and a pair of thigh supports that are connected to the posterior portion, via a multi-directional connection, so that the position of at least one thigh support is independently adjustable to tilt upwardly or downwardly or to pivot outwardly relative to the posterior portion to an abducted position. In some embodiments, at least one of the thigh supports may be configured to pivot inwardly relative to the posterior portion to an adducted position.
WHEELCHAIR APPARATUSES INCLUDING USAGE FEATURES
A powered wheelchair apparatus includes a chair component, a power base component and a wheelchair control system. The wheelchair control system includes a processor and a user input device communicatively coupled to the processor. A display is communicatively coupled to the processor. A memory module is communicatively coupled to the processor that stores logic that, when executed by the processor, causes the system to receive user instructions from the user input device and display a message on the display based on the user instructions. The display is on a back of the chair component.
MOBILITY ASSISTANCE DEVICE
A mobility assistance apparatus includes first and second frames positioned on left and right sides of a user; a hinge arm mechanism coupled to the first and second frames; and a securing unit or a walking seat coupled to the frames to transfer at least a portion of the user's body weight from the legs and to transfer weight through the user's hip or pelvis to the first and second frame enabling the user to stand or work for an extended period without requiring the user's arms to hold the frame.
Mobility assistance device
A mobility assistance apparatus includes first and second frames positioned on left and right sides of a user; a hinge arm mechanism coupled to the first and second frames; and a pivotable securing unit or a walking seat coupled to the frames to transfer at least a portion of the user's body weight from the legs and to transfer weight through the user's hip or pelvis to the first and second frame enabling the user to stand or work for an extended period without requiring the user's arms to hold the frame.
Displacement mechanism for getting disabled person into and out of car
A displacement mechanism contains: a support rack, a sitting assembly, a slide rod, two fixing feet, a back, a first holding plate, a second holding plate, and an expandable sheet. The support rack includes a fixer having a post, a rolling stand having multiple first rollers, and a lifter. The sitting assembly includes a receiving orifice and a rotatable mounting. The slide rod includes an elongated hole for connecting the slide rod with the post. A respective foot includes a second roller. The back is disposed on a rear end of the sitting assembly. The first holding plate is mounted on a seat of a wheelchair, and the sitting assembly is slid between the fixer and the first holding plate. The second holding plate is connected on a seat of a car. The expandable sheet is disposed between the fixer and the second holding plate.
APPARATUS FOR SEATING A PERSON IN AN OBSTRUCTED SEAT
An apparatus is disclosed which enables a person to be moved into a seat which may be obstructed by an arm rest or another obstacle. In some implementations, an apparatus for seating a person into an obstructed seat may comprise a first support structure for supporting the person in a position adjacent the obstructed seat; a second support structure configured to be placed onto the seat; and a transfer structure configured to enable the person to move or be moved from the first support structure to the second support structure.
