Fold, recline, and tilt mechanisms for a personal mobility vehicle
A personal mobility vehicle, such as a stroller, has spaced apart side frame assemblies that each include a backrest portion and a seat frame portion. The backrest portion is moveable to several recline positions relative to the seat frame portion by actuating a latching mechanism. The backrest portion and the base frame are both moveable to a folded position relative to the seat frame by actuating the same latching mechanism. The side frame assembly further has a tilt mechanism that permits the backrest and seat frames to move as a unit relative to the base frame.
WHEELCHAIR SYSTEMS WITH EMERGENCY STOP FEATURES
A wheelchair system comprises a wheelchair comprising a seat, one or more first sensors disposed on or within the seat, one or more second sensors configured to communicate with the one or more first sensors and configured to be associated with a user to determine if the user is falling out of the wheelchair, wherein, upon detection that the user is falling out of the wheelchair, the wheelchair is configured to automatically stop.
Lift especially for changing the position of the seat in a wheelchair
A lift which is mainly used in wheelchairs to change the position of the seat and thus to change the position of a person sitting in the wheelchair. On the known scissor lift there is attached an upper frame consisting of a horizontal fixed part 1 and a tilting plate 2 attached to arms 3. In the fixed part 1 of the upper frame, tilting arms 5 are pivotally mounted on axle 4, with the other end pivotally mounted on axle 6 in arms 3 of the tilting plate 1, powered by the actuator 7 mounted in fixed part 1 of the upper frame. Actuator 7 through the levers of the cam tilting system drives tilting arms 5. The tilting plate 2 can be tilted in both directions around axle 6 that is around the attachment point of the arms 3 in the tilting arms 5.
SEAT POSITIONING SYSTEM FOR A WHEELCHAIR
A seat positioning system includes a base frame having a pair of forward slots and a pair of rear slots, and a seat frame having a front end and a back end. The seat frame is coupled to the base frame and movable relative to the base frame. A first pair of linkages is slideably coupled to the pair of forward slots and connects the frames. A first pair of locking devices has a locked configuration adapted to prevent the first pair of linkages from sliding relative to the pair of forward slots and an unlocked configuration adapted to allow the first pair of linkages to slide relative to the pair of forward slots. A second pair of linkages slideably is coupled to the pair of rear slots and connects the frames. An actuator is pivotally connected to both the scat frame and the base frame and is configured to extend and contract to move the scat frame relative to the base frame.
SEAT TILTING SYSTEM FOR A WHEELCHAIR
A wheelchair having: i) a frame, ii) a seat, iii) a backrest, iv) front wheels, v) rear wheels and vi) a handle. The frame has a wheel frame and a seat frame pivotably mounted to the wheel frame via seat frame hinges, wherein the seat mounted to the seat frame. The seat frame is coupled with the wheel frame via a joint linkage system coupled with front rods and rear rods and sets an operation angle between said front rods and said rear rods. Backward rotation of the seat causes the joint linkage system to increase the operation angle between said front rods and rear rods thereby increasing the wheel footprint of the wheelchair. Forward rotation of the seat causes the joint linkage system to decrease the operation angle between said front rods and rear rods thereby decreasing the wheel footprint of the wheelchair.
Wheelchair Having An Adjustable Base
A wheelchair comprises a base assembly and a tilt assembly detachably supported on the base assembly. The base assembly has a mounting point that receives the tilt assembly and a latch receiver that engages a latch assembly of the tilt assembly. The wheelchair further provides a fore and aft adjustment of a seat mounted to the tilt assembly and an angular adjustment of the seat relative to a rocker of the tilt. Each of the fore/aft seat adjustment and the seat angle adjustment relative to the rocker is independently adjustable. The rocker position of the tilt assembly relative to the base is unchanged when either the seat longitudinal position or angular position is adjusted.
Method and apparatus for setting or modifying programmable parameter in power driven wheelchair
A method and apparatus for setting or modifying a programmable operating parameter associated with a power driven wheelchair is provided. In one embodiment, the method includes: a) operating a user interface device associated with a power driven wheelchair in a programming mode, b) selecting a programmable operating parameter associated with operation of the power driven wheelchair using the user interface device, c) selecting a value for the programmable operating parameter using the user interface device, and d) saving the selected value for the programmable operating parameter in a portion of a storage device associated with the power driven wheelchair using the user interface device. A method and apparatus for selecting one or more programmable parameter sets from a portable storage medium and saving the selected sets to a local storage device associated with a power driven wheelchair and vice versa is also provided.
Transport apparatus
A first transport apparatus includes a deck for supporting a patient thereon and a lift mechanism supporting the deck. The deck is removable from the lift mechanism for use as a second transport apparatus or part of a second transport apparatus. The first transport apparatus further includes an electrically powered device at the first transport apparatus, and a user input device for wireless control of the electrically powered device, which is operable at or near the first transport apparatus and the second transport apparatus.
MOBILE BODY
A mobile body (1A) includes: a base body (3) tiltably assembled to a movement operation section (2) that can move on a floor surface; an occupant riding section 6 installed to the base body (3) by a connection mechanism (4); an auxiliary ground contact section 7 connected to the occupant riding section (6) and in contact with the floor surface in a slidable or rollable manner when a tilt amount of the occupant riding section (6) with respect to the floor surface increases to a predetermined amount; and a control device (80) which controls the movement of the movement operation section (2) to stabilize the attitude of the mobile body (1A). The connection mechanism (4) elastically rocks the occupant riding section (6) with respect to the base body (3) according to the movement of the center of gravity of a user P riding on the occupant riding section (6).
TILT LOCK MECHANISM FOR A TILTING WHEELCHAIR SEAT
A tilt lock mechanism for a wheelchair having a tilting seat frame pivotally mounted to a non-tiling base frame. The tilt lock mechanism including a catch release member mounted to the tiling seat frame, the catch release member having a guide surface; and the catch release member having a tilt lock position and a tilt lock release position. A locking tab is mounted to the non-tilting base frame, which is sized and shaped to engage the guide surface when said catch release member is in the tilt lock release position. A plurality of locking slots are formed in the tilting seat frame and the locking tab engages one of the locking slots when the catch release member is in the tilt lock position. As well an actuator is provided for moving the catch release member between the tilt lock position and the tilt lock release position.
