The elastically deformable spring member can be deformed such that the first distance is increased to a second distance.

Bath transfer chair

A transfer apparatus for receiving the chair seat of a wheelchair and supporting the chair seat in the base of a washing enclosure. The transfer apparatus has a chair support member including a chair support track section that can be positioned in the washing enclosure base, a bridge portion with a bridge track section that is movably mounted to the chair support member. The transfer apparatus includes a lock system usable to secure the bridge portion in an in-use position and engaged with the wheelchair. A first lock inhibits rotational motion of the bridge portion. The first lock includes a retractable locking member that is biased to an extended, locking position. A second lock is usable to prevent longitudinal separation of the bridge portion and the wheelchair. The first and second lock can be automatically engaged when the bridge portion is moved to the in-use position.

The second pivoting component is pivoted to the first pivoting component. The backrest sliding assembly is slidably disposed on the first pivoting component. The backrest connecting component is disposed between the first pivoting component and the second pivoting component. A first end of the backrest connecting component is pivoted to the backrest sliding assembly. A second end of the backrest connecting component is pivoted to the second pivoting component. The backrest sliding assembly drives the second pivoting component to pivot relative to the first pivoting component by the backrest connecting component when the at least one backrest sliding assembly slides relative to the first pivoting component, so as to support a user's back portion at different angles.

The bottom part (4) and the rear part (8) are arranged next to each other and the bottom part (4) is arranged to be displaceable outwards in a direction towards the front of the chair (1) and the rear part (8) is arranged to be displaceable upwards in a direction towards the front of the chair (1). Methods for aiding a person in getting undressed or dressed by means of a toilet chair (1) and use of a toilet chair (1) is also disclosed.

MOBILE PATIENT SUPPORT CHAIR

A mobile patient support chair to assist in bathing of a patient by a carer with little or no upper body strength comprises a chair pivotally mounted in a support frame comprised of four legs each ending in a wheel. The chair frame comprises groups of support panels which can be locked in support positions and rotated through 90 degrees to provide access to the patient's legs, buttocks and back. Additionally the chair is balanced to allow easy rotation into a fully backwards lying position, and a fully forward lying position. In the fully forward lying position flexible retaining strips are placed across the patient to retain them in place. Additionally the wheels may be step-climbing wheels to assist in climbing small steps found in bathroom entrances and shower cubicles.
