A printing apparatus includes a head to discharge liquid, a carriage to support the head and reciprocate in a forward direction and a backward direction, and a controller. The controller executes a printing process to print one image in a plurality of copies by discharging the liquid from the head while moving the carriage in the forward direction and the backward direction, based on a print job for printing the one image in the plurality of copies, and a first determining process to determine a moving direction of the carriage for second and following copies, based on a moving result of the carriage in printing for the first copy in the printing process.

A method for classifying a printable image to be printed comprising: receiving, at a printing device, print data representing the printable image to be printed; generating an image of the printable image based on the print data; classifying the image to obtain a format associated with the printable image; printing the printable image according to the print data; and updating a counter associated with the format.

The technique of the present disclosure can achieve processing efficiency and prevention of improper drawing in printing a monochrome representation of color data. In performing discriminability reproducing color conversion processing, a PDL analysis unit determines whether processing involving color change that changes the original color is specified in operator information on a target object for the discriminability reproducing color conversion processing. In a case where processing that changes the original color, such as ROP or α-blending, is specified for the target object, the discriminability reproducing color conversion processing for the page is canceled and switched to all-color uniform color conversion processing. This enables both of efficient discriminability reproducing color conversion and prevention of improper drawing.

A processing device including a hardware processor that: determines a dot position at which a dot is to be generated by multiple recording elements arranged in a first direction on a medium which moves relative to the recording elements in a second direction crossing the first direction, based on tone data for each pixel of an image to be formed; determines a corrected dot number that is a number of a dot position by a malfunctioning recording element to which an offset number is added, wherein the malfunctioning recording element is set as a recording element by which a dot is not generated normally among the recording elements; and determines the corrected dot number of a dot position within a dot generation possible range by a recording element other than the malfunctioning recording element.

A hybrid ink limit is applied during the creation of an ICC profile. The hybrid ink limit takes into account a percentage total area coverage (TAC) ink limit and a volume-based ink limit. The percentage TAC ink limit is specified using an input from an operator. The volume-based ink limit is retrieved based upon the media for the ICC profile. Both ink limits are applied to primary color combinations for color patches to be printed in a test chart used to capture measurement data to create the ICC profile. A combination of primary colors at exceeds either ink limit is adjusted to meet the ink limit. The adjusted combination is used in the test chart to generate the measurement data for the ICC profile. After creation of the ICC profile, the volume-based ink limit is applied to the ICC profile color combinations to identify those combinations still over the ink limit.

Various embodiments illustrated herein disclose a method comprising rendering a buffer image from a first image data received for printing. Further, the method includes scaling the buffer image to generated scaled buffer image. Furthermore, the method includes determining a first location of a machine readable indicia in the scaled buffer image. Additionally, the method includes causing a print head to print the buffer image on a print media to generate a printed content.

In the field of printing equipment, a handheld printer, a printing method, an information processing method and a printing device is provided. The problem that an existing printer is limited in operation and printing is solved. The handheld printer includes a printer body, a nozzle protection cover, and a handle. The nozzle protection cover and the handle are provided at two opposite ends of the printer body. The printer body includes a printing panel, and the printing panel is located on the inner side of the nozzle protection cover. Examples described herein relate to a system consistent with the disclosure. For instance, the system may comprise a printing device including hardware to form markings on a print medium, a memory resource, and a controller to receive a print job to form the markings on the print medium, render a page description language of the print job to form the markings, determine an object type image of the print job, designate pixels of the determined object type image to form a covert dot pattern on the image, and adjust colors of the designated pixels to form the covert dot pattern on the markings.
