IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD, IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS, AND STORAGE MEDIUM

An image processing method includes: a first obtaining step of obtaining data of an image; a second obtaining step of obtaining additional information; a third obtaining step of obtaining information related to a printable area of a print medium on which the image based on the data obtained in the first obtaining step is printed; determining step of determining a position where the obtained additional information is embedded in the image on the basis of the information obtained in the third obtaining step; and embedding step of embedding the additional information with reference to the determined position.

Auto-adjusted print location on center-tracked printers

The present invention embraces methods to automatically adjust print locations on a label on center-tracked printers. The methods are applicable for the initial out of the box setup and when changing media/print scripts after deployment of the printer. A novelty of the present invention is that no additional hardware may be required and the method is implemented with a relatively simple software algorithm. By utilizing a simple software algorithm and an analysis of the objects (barcode, text, shape, graphics, etc.) in the rendered image buffer, the centered position for the label can be calculated. The calculation of the centered position for the label is based on the print head width and the image width. An additional benefit with this invention is that the risk of printing outside the physical label (due to mechanical or label media roll variations) is minimized, since the image is printed centered.

DECAP TIME AND PRINTING DATA

Examples include a method for mitigating decap in a printing system that comprises nozzles, in which printing data associated to a graphical representation and that comprise pixel data points are received. Some data points are associated with a corresponding nozzle and a corresponding direction of movement and at least one specific data point is associated with a specific direction of movement and a specific nozzle which has a decap time below a first predetermined threshold. The received printing data is modified by displacing the printing data of the specific data point in a direction opposite to the specific direction of movement in order to compensate for the decap time.

A black figure specification part of a data processing apparatus specifies a black figure from among a plurality of figures in original image data that represents each figure in a vector format. When the overprint attribute of the black figure is ON, a data processing part adds a new black figure whose overprint attribute is OFF and that indicates a figure central portion of the black figure excluding an outer edge portion of a predetermined width from the edge, to the original image data. When the black figure overlaps with another figure that includes a color other than black, the density of the other color in the area where the figure central portion and the other figure overlap each other is zero in raster data for image recording. This increases the darkness of color of the black figure and reduces the appearance of white streaks around the black figure.

Print data processing method and apparatus reducing ink applied in erosion region among white-plate data

A white-plate graphic erosion process is performed on print data subjected to a RIP process in the following procedure. First, an erosion candidate region which is a candidate for a region in which a white-plate graphic is eroded is determined. Then, a region to be applied with an ink of a color other than white is determined. Then, an application target region is determined. Then, a region other than a region obtained by an erosion process out of the application target region is determined to be an erosion allowed region. Then, a region included in the colored region and the erosion allowed region out of the erosion candidate region is determined to be an erosion target region. Finally, the values of data of pixels included in the erosion target region among white-plate data are rewritten such that the amount of white ink applied to the pixels is reduced.
