An image processing apparatus comprises a generation unit configured to generate, based on print data, pieces of information to be used for generating intermediate data based on the print data, and store the pieces of information in an external storage device connected to the image processing apparatus, and a rendering unit configured to generate the intermediate data using the pieces of information, and generate a raster image by performing rendering based on the generated intermediate data.

In an example, an apparatus is described that includes a plurality of fluid ejection devices, a database, and a raster image processor. The plurality of fluid ejection devices eject a plurality of fluids containing a plurality of different colorants. The database stores an entry for a spot color. The entry defines a first subset of the plurality of fluids that combines to emulate the spot color and a second subset of the plurality of fluids that combines to emulate the spot color. The second subset maximizes a number of the plurality of different colorants used. The raster image processor converts a page description of an image including the spot color into rasterized image data using the second subset of the plurality of fluids.
PRINTING DEVICE, PRINTING METHOD, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER-READABLE STORAGE MEDIUM FOR PRINTING OVERALL PATCH IMAGE HAVING BASIC PATCH AND SPECIFIED PATCH ARRANGED THEREON
A printing device includes a printing engine, a storage unit, and a controller. The printing engine prints on a printing medium. The storage unit stores an overall patch image including patches for color calibration for printing an image based on image data. The patches include basic patches corresponding to predetermined colors. The overall patch image has a first patch area in which the basic patches are arranged and a second patch area different from the first patch area. The controller performs: generating a specified patch that is a patch for a color specified by a user in a preview image corresponding to the image; and printing the overall patch image using the printing engine. In a case where the specified patch is generated, in the printing the generated specified patch is printed in the first patch area and one of the basic patches is printed in the second patch area.
Tape cassette and printing apparatus
A printing apparatus to print a character in conjunction with a tape cassette is provided. The tape cassette includes a tape and a first memory device to store character data. The printing apparatus includes an attachable section, a second memory device, a controller, and a printer. The controller reads specific character data that satisfies a predetermined condition from the first memory device in the tape cassette, stores the specific character data in the second memory device as in-apparatus stored data, and appoints print-object data being the character data corresponding to an object character, which is the character appointed as a print object, from the in-apparatus stored data in the second memory device. The printer prints the object character on the tape in the tape cassette based on the appointed print-object data.
Component comprising a memory device including corrective data
In some examples, a component for a printing device includes a memory device comprising a plurality of corrective data to produce a corresponding plurality of color tables each customized for a respective media type of a plurality of media types, wherein a respective corrective data of the plurality of corrective data corresponds to nodes of a reference color table for the printing device that is able to accept the plurality of media types for printing. The respective corrective data includes a plurality of residual values to transform the nodes of the reference color table to a customized color table for use with a selected media type of the plurality of media types.
Color table compression
A memory device includes a compressed color table and corrective information. The compressed color table includes a first set of nodes of the color table compressed with a lossy compression at a selected compression ratio. The first set of nodes include a color difference within an error threshold at the selected compression ratio. Corrective information is included for a second set of nodes of the color table. The second set of nodes have a color difference outside the error threshold.
Printing device supply component
In some examples, a supply component for a printing device includes a memory device comprising corrective data to produce a customized color table for a first color gamut, wherein the corrective data corresponds to nodes of a reference color table for the printing device that is able to employ a plurality of color gamuts for printing. The corrective data comprises a plurality of residual values to transform the nodes of the reference color table to the customized color table. The corrective data is accessible by the printing device to transform the reference color table to the customized color table used for printing to a media using the first color gamut.
Caching outline characters in printed documents
Methods, systems, and storage media for outline character printing on a printing device are disclosed. Exemplary implementations may: allocate cache memory of a printing device for registration of an outline character; register outline character data wherein the metadata portion comprises a description of the outline character and the data portion comprises a scanline table for the outline character; receive a print job data at the printing device; determine the print job data identifies the outline character in the cache memory at the printing device; render the scanline table accessed from the cache memory as a pattern of pixels for the outline character for the print job data received; and print, on the printing device, the pattern of pixels rendered from the scanline table accessed from the cache memory for the print job data received.
Printing device supply component
In some examples, a fuser for a printing device includes a memory device comprising corrective data corresponding to a reference color table for the printing device that is able to operate in a plurality of different modes, the corrective data comprising quantized coefficients derived from a compression of a difference color table including a plurality of difference nodes in which each difference node represents a value that is to be combined with a corresponding node of the reference color table, the quantized coefficients useable to produce a reconstructed difference table. The corrective data including residue values to combine with the reconstructed difference table to produce a customized color table for a selected mode of the plurality of different modes.
COLOR TABLE COMPRESSION
A memory device includes a compressed color table and corrective information. The compressed color table includes a first set of nodes of the color table compressed with a lossy compression at a selected compression ratio. The first set of nodes include a color difference within an error threshold at the selected compression ratio. Corrective information is included for a second set of nodes of the color table. The second set of nodes have a color difference outside the error threshold.
