Print job analysis
Print jobs may include errors, which may be difficult to resolve. In the embodiments described herein, data objects in print jobs are converted into printable features that show the underlying information in the print job, which allows for a visual inspection of the logical structures and relationships between the logical structures and print data objects in a printed output. One embodiment comprises a print controller that stores a first print job comprising one or more data objects, and print job commands that define the data objects for the first print job. The print controller processes the print job commands to identify the data objects for the first print job, and outlines and presentation positions specified for the data objects, and generates a second print job that graphically represents the outlines and the presentation positions of the data objects as graphical shapes, and provides the second print job.
IMAGE PROCESSING DEVICE, IMAGE PROCESSING SYSTEM, AND METHOD
An image processing device includes an input device and circuitry. The input device inputs data. The circuitry converts text information to be printed included in the data to generate converted information and outputs data for image formation including the converted information.
Color adjustment system and method
A method comprising determining a recipe vector of a recipe to a printing device, wherein the recipe is representative of a spot color in an input image, the recipe vector being based on one or more recipe color properties of the recipe, and determining a pixel vector of a pixel of an output of a printing device based on one or more pixel color properties of the pixel, wherein the pixel vector is representative of a spot color in an output of a printing device. The method also comprises comparing the recipe vector and pixel vector to determine a difference between the recipe and pixel and adjusting one or more pixel color properties of the pixel when the difference is below a predetermined threshold, to reduce the difference so as to substantially reproduce the spot color of the input image in the output of the printing device. The adjusted pixel color properties are then provided to the printing device.
IMAGE FORMATION APPARATUS AND METHOD OF IMAGE FORMATION
An image formation apparatus includes a communication unit, a controller, an operation unit, and an image forming device. The communication unit is configured to receive, as a printing job, a printing setting and printing data. The printing setting includes a size corresponding to one of a longitudinal-feed envelope and a lateral-feed envelope, but does not designate which of the longitudinal-feed and lateral-feed envelopes undergoes printing. The raster image generator is configured to generate a raster image corresponding to the longitudinal-feed envelope and a raster image corresponding to the lateral-feed envelope in accordance with the printing data. The operation unit is configured to display a screen that receives a selection between the longitudinal-feed and lateral-feed envelopes to receive the selection made by a user. The image forming device is configured to perform printing with the raster image corresponding to the longitudinal-feed or lateral-feed envelope selected.
INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
An information processing apparatus includes a processing section that generates, based on image data, print data obtained by performing RIP processing on the image data and preview data smaller in data size than the print data, and a storage section that stores the preview data, in which when an update of a preview of a print image based on the print data is accepted, the processing section updates data used for the preview by using the preview data read from the storage section.
Evaluation of print verification system
Systems and methods are provided for evaluation of a print verification system. One embodiment is a print system that includes a printer, a virtual printer, a print verification system, and a print server. The print server is configured to initiate an evaluation of the print verification system by providing a defective version of a print job to one of the printer and the virtual printer and providing a non-defective version of the print job to the other one of the printer and the virtual printer. The print server verifies functionality of the print verification system based on whether the print verification system detects the defects via comparison of the printed output of the print job by the printer against the bitmap image output of the print job by the virtual printer.
BITMAP PROCESSING OF DIGITAL DOCUMENTS
A bitmap processing system for creating digital documents on a digital printing press by a fulfiller includes a fulfiller operated raster image processor that receives customer application Page Description Language (PDL) job files containing information for creating the digital documents and generates bitmaps in accordance with the files and a fulfiller operated editor that modifies the bitmaps so that the resulting documents process more efficiently in production steps downstream of a printing process.
NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER READABLE STORAGE MEDIUM, INFORMATION PROCESSING DEVICE AND PRINTING METHOD
A printer is caused to perform duplex printing by an information processing device in which an OS standard printing program is installed. When causing a printer connected to a PC to execute duplex printing based on a print instruction output from an editing application installed in the PC, an auxiliary program that supports the printer executes rotation processing of rotating an image of a page, which is required to be rotated, by 180° for intermediate data received from a general-purpose print program, executes rearrangement processing of rearranging a processing order from a page order to a print order for print data received from the general-purpose print program, according to a sheet conveying aspect of the printer, and transmits the print data after the rotation processing and the rearrangement processing from the PC to the printer.
Methods and systems for indicating and replacing missing element(s) in print job files prior to printing
A method for processing a print job file using a printing system includes receiving, by the printing system, the print job file, the print job file including at least one placeholder element designated in the document using a pattern, a spot color, or a set of color values; receiving, by the printing system, missing content for the print job file; replacing, by the printing system, the at least one placeholder element with the missing content; and printing, by the printing system, the print job file including the missing content.
Support program, information processing device, and printing method
A support program is executable by a computer of an information processing device and supports a printer connected to the information processing device. The support program causes the computer to execute, determination processing of receiving print data corresponding to images having a plurality of pages from a general-purpose print program of an operating system and, based on the received print data, determining an arrangement order of the images according to the number of pages for one volume in a booklet printing, and composite image output control processing of transmitting the composite print data, which is made by rasterizing the composite image in which the images corresponding to the two target pages are arranged so as to fit on one surface of each sheet based on the arrangement order determined in the determination processing, from the information processing device to the printer.
