Bitmap processing of digital documents
A bitmap processing system for creating digital documents on a digital printing press by a fulfiller includes a fulfiller operated raster image processor that receives customer application Page Description Language (PDL) job files containing information for creating the digital documents and generates bitmaps in accordance with the files and a fulfiller operated editor that modifies the bitmaps so that the resulting documents process more efficiently in production steps downstream of a printing process.
IMAGE FORMING SYSTEM THAT CHANGES ORDER OF RIP ACCORDING TO COMBINATION OF SORTING ORDER AND FACE ORIENTATION AT DELIVERY OF RECORDING MEDIUM HAVING IMAGE FORMED THEREON
An image forming system includes an input device, an image processing device, an image forming device, a delivery device, and a controller. The controller causes the image processing device to execute RIP operation in forward order with respect to print data, upon receipt, through the input device, of a first instruction indicating one of a combination of reverse order and face-up, and a combination of forward order and face-down, as combination of sorting order and face orientation at delivery of a recording medium having an image formed thereon, and causes the image processing device to execute RIP operation in reverse order with respect to the print data, upon receipt, through the input device, of a second instruction indicating one of a combination of forward order and face-up, and a combination of reverse order and face-down, as the combination of the sorting order and the face orientation at delivery.
Printing system for continuous processing from printing to binding and printing method thereof
A printing system is provided with a dummy data insertion unit configured to insert dummy data into print data based on waiting time occurring when post-processing is performed by a post-processing device (for example, a collating machine). In a printing unit, a dummy page is printed on the basis of the dummy data. A dummy page removing unit configured to remove a dummy page from printed printing paper so that the dummy page is not supplied to the post-processing device is provided between the printing device and the post-processing device.
Image forming apparatus, method for controlling image forming apparatus, information processing method, and storage medium
Provided is an image forming apparatus including: an obtainment unit configured to obtain print data including drawing commands; a first image processing unit configured to perform conversion of color information for drawing an object having a non-image attribute among objects to be drawn by the drawing commands; a command execution unit configured to generate raster image data based on the drawing commands; a storage configured to store the generated raster image data to perform predetermined output; a second image processing unit configured to perform conversion of color information on an object having a picture attribute in the generated raster image data; and a control unit configured to perform the predetermined output in a case where a predetermined condition is met.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR PROCESSING TESSELLATED GRAPHICS FOR DIGITAL PRINTING
A method for printing a product that includes a graphic that is tessellated includes receiving or generating the graphic and a tessellation pattern for the graphic; determining a first repeated swath using at least the graphic and the tessellation pattern, wherein the product to be printed includes at least two instances of the first repeated swath, wherein the first repeated swath includes i) at least two full copies of the graphic, ii) at least two partial copies of the graphic; or iii) at least one full copy and at least one partial copy of the graphic; generating raster data of the first repeated swath; and printing the product using the raster data of the first repeated swath to print the first repeated swath at least twice
Digital halftoning with dots representing a spiral
A halftone raster image, suitable for rendering a continuous-tone image, which comprises a plurality of dots, arranged according a screen ruling and screen angle. Said dots comprise (i) image pixels arranged as a first arc or as a plurality of arcs which together represent a first spiral, and (ii) non-image pixels arranged as a second arc or as a plurality of arcs which together represent a second spiral. Small displacements of the feed point of said dots away from the theoretical centre of a halftone dot, defined by said screen ruling and screen angle, enable a higher image quality and less patterns in said halftone raster image.
Method of printing onto variable-sized box substrates
A method of printing onto a planar box substrate used for assembling a box having predetermined box dimensions. The method includes the steps of: determining box dimensions based on the planar box substrate; retrieving generic instructions for image content to be printed on the box substrate; preparing box-specific transformations using the generic instructions and the box dimensions; applying the box-specific transformations on design components to generate image content portions commensurate with image content regions; generating image data based on the image content portions; and printing onto the box substrate using the image data.
Method for producing security elements in an image which are not visible to the human eye and cannot be copied, and printed image
A method for producing security elements in an image which are not visible to the human eye and which cannot be copied, in particular for checking the authenticity of images. The image is imaged by means of a halftone, the halftone consisting of individual image dots arranged adjacent to each other. This is characterized in that at least one field having a random geometric shape or freeform is defined in the image/the halftone. By means of manipulation of image dots in the field and/or by means of manipulation of the entire field, an encrypted information that cannot be copied is stored for comparison with at least one database and the serial number is displayed by means of contours formed in the halftone.
PRINT JOB SECURITY
In the embodiments described herein, partially encrypted print jobs are described which include unencrypted print job commands and encrypted print data objects. One embodiment comprises a print controller that includes a memory and at least one processor. The memory stores a print job comprising one or more print data objects, and print job commands that define data boundaries in the print job for the print data objects. The at least one processor processes the print job commands to identify the print data objects for the print job based on the data boundaries, encrypts the print data objects using a key while the print job commands remain unencrypted, generates a partially encrypted print job comprising the encrypted print data objects and the unencrypted print job commands, and provides the partially encrypted print job.
DIGITAL HALFTONING WITH SPIRAL DOTS
A halftone raster image, suitable for rendering a continuous-tone image, which comprises a plurality of regularly tiled spiral dots. Said spiral dots comprise (i) image pixels arranged as a first arc (200) or as a plurality of arcs which together represent a first spiral (100), and (ii) non-image pixels arranged as a second arc (201) or as a plurality of arcs which together represent a second spiral (101), wherein neighbour halftone dots from said plurality of regularly tiled halftone dots represent a double spiral or triple spiral.
