An image processing apparatus of the present invention includes: a plurality of PDL processing units configured to execute analysis processing corresponding to a type of PDL data; an operation unit configured to accept a user's instruction for implementing a specific printing function; and a control unit configured to control execution of printing processing based on the user's instruction accepted by the operation unit. The control unit starts, in accordance with the acceptance of the user's instruction by the operation unit, reserving work memory to be used for the analysis processing by a PDL processing unit, among the plurality of PDL processing units, which corresponds to PDL data included in a print job associated with the user's instruction.

A method for evaluating a print quality of a printed document that is printed by a printer is provided. The printer comprises a pre-print image scanner, a post-print image scanner, and a printhead disposed between the pre-print image scanner and the post-print image scanner. The method comprises generating a pre-printing image of a print media, generating the printed document, generating a post-printing image of the printed document, generating a validation image by comparing the post-printing image with the pre-printing image, and comparing the validation image with the source image.

One embodiment of the present invention is an image forming apparatus comprising a control unit configured to control whether or not to perform thickening processing to thicken an object in an upper layer and an object in a lower layer based on a raster operation code designating drawing processing in a case where the object in the upper layer and the object in the lower layer overlap, wherein the control unit: does not perform the thickening processing in a case where a value of the raster operation code is MERGEPEN and a color of the object in the upper layer is not a black color.

In a host computer, a print processor generates, in a drawing region of a memory device context, additional raster data for drawing an additional drawing in addition to drawing information regarding a logical page included in an Enhanced Metafile Format (EMF) spool file, and a graphics driver (GD) module of a printer driver combines document raster data generated in a drawing region of a printer device context with the additional raster data, and generates print data based on post-combination raster data.

An image forming apparatus according to the present disclosure stores image data of an image having a plurality of regions, the plurality of regions having stepwise different densities, including a first region, a second region, and a third region between the first region and the second region, and satisfying a relationship of a moisture amount in the first region <a moisture amount in the third region <a moisture amount in the second region, and forms the stored image data on a print medium.

A method is disclosed. The method includes detecting an object within Advanced Presentation Document (AFP) print data and inserting a Metadata Object Content Architecture 2.0 (MOCA-2) object into the AFP print data to associate contextual information with a component of data within the object.
