An image processing apparatus that converts drawing data generated by an application program into print data to be used for printing with a printing apparatus. A memory stores a program. The program determines, among drawing elements included in the drawing data, a drawing element that has a graphics attribute and that corresponds to a character drawn with path coordinates. The program generates the print data by converting the drawing data and includes performing image processing suitable to a text attribute for the drawing element having the graphics attribute determined to correspond to the character drawn with the path coordinates. The program also sends the generated print data to the printing apparatus for the printing.

In a printer according to an aspect, since a received image is rotated such that the marginal area is positioned in a specific direction with respect to the subject in a case where the image is printed on the instant film, it is possible to acquire the print on which the marginal area is positioned in the desired direction with respect to the subject in a case where the image is printed by using the instant film having the image forming area and the marginal area. A user can fill out a message in such a marginal area, and can acquire a print having a good appearance.

A printing control apparatus includes a processor configured to receive instruction information including print data and post-processing information indicating content of post-processing scheduled to be performed on paper on which an image based on the print data is printed, and, in a case where the post-processing included in the instruction information is not performed by a post-processing apparatus, generate an auxiliary image that assists a user to perform the post-processing, based on the post-processing information, and print the auxiliary image, together with the image based on the received print data, on the paper.

An image forming apparatus includes: a forming unit configured to form an image on a sheet by forming a plurality of toner images using a plurality of types of toner, and transfer the plurality of toner images onto the sheet, or transfer the plurality of toner images onto the sheet via an intermediate transfer member; and a controller configured to control the forming unit to form a formed image and an antimicrobial pattern on the sheet based on first image data representing the formed image, wherein at least one first toner out of the plurality of types of toner is antimicrobial toner that includes an antimicrobial agent, at least one second toner out of the plurality of types of toner is non-antimicrobial toner that does not contain the antimicrobial agent, and the antimicrobial pattern is formed using the first toner.

A method, apparatus, and computer readable storage medium for printing a receipt. Receipt data may be generated at a point-of-sale terminal. At least one value adding message including a graphical image may be automatically selected and dynamic content for the value adding message may be automatically generated. A receipt may be printed by a point-of-sale printer, the receipt including the receipt data, the graphical image, and the dynamic content, wherein the dynamic content is printed in a window embedded within the graphic image.

A negotiable instrument such as a check includes a unique microprint identifier that allows for authentication while preventing unauthorized reproduction and alternation. A printing system generates the identifier after receiving a customer order for printing a plurality of negotiable instruments, to allow inclusion of information that is specific to the customer order and/or the printing process. In various embodiments, the identifier is unique to each or each subset of the plurality of negotiable instruments and facilitates authentication of each of the negotiable instruments when needed.

An object of the present invention is to provide an image processing apparatus capable of combining a group element so that a color intended by a user is output ultimately even in the case where flattening is performed on the way of the processing performed on the group.

Disclosed are printing devices and methods that accommodate the use of multiple different output color modes and, thereby multiple different output color profiles and that support user selection of any of the profiles for printing different logical pages on a single print surface. Consequently, they do not require a user to trade off between a desire to achieve a particular result in an image on one logical page, wherein the particular result is only achievable with an extended gamut profile, and a desire to avoid the higher cost associated with unnecessarily using the extended gamut profile to print a different image on a different logical page on the same print surface. Thus, the printing devices and methods provide for rendering of both standard and enhanced quality images on the same print surface in accordance with user selections and for minimizing costs associated with printing (e.g., due to excessive colorant usage).

A print control apparatus includes a setting unit. The setting unit selects one or more statuses to be obtained among statuses indicating states of as image output apparatus, in accordance with content displayed on a display that displays the selected statuses. The setting unit sets a polling interval at which polling is performed to obtain the selected statuses, in accordance with a frequency of change of the selected statuses. The setting unit sets the number of parallel processes in accordance with the number of selected statuses.

An image processing method is applied to a driver-end device, including obtaining an image-to-be-printed and extracting a text part and an image part from the image-to-be-printed. The image processing method includes converting all extracted image parts on one page into first image data. The image processing method includes converting the extracted text part into a page description language. The image processing method includes generating an image instruction based on the first image data and inserting the image instruction into the page description language to form a target page description language. The image processing method also includes sending the target page description language to an image forming device to execute an image forming job.
