CUT-OUT SCANNING SYSTEM
20210248433 · 2021-08-12 ·

Methods and systems for identifying cut-out patterns from a scanned raw image file and arranging shapes within a document prior to printing cut-out patterns are described. A printing device may identify and group contents in a page of a print job as shapes to be cut out from the paper after they are printed. The printing device may then detect the grouped page contents as cut-out patterns. For each cut-out pattern, the printing device may detect the white spaces of content of the cut-out pattern and mark them as available for printing other cut-out patterns. Thus, the printing device may print multiple cut-out patterns on a same page based on using the white space within larger cut-out patterns.

PRINTING APPARATUS AND CONTROL METHOD THEREFOR

A printing apparatus includes a printing unit, a post-processing unit, and a controller. The controller includes a paper-type setting section configured to set a paper type of a paper feeding section, a storing section configured to store a plurality of paper types for which specific post processing is possible, and a control executing section. The printing output data includes paper type designation information, paper feeding section designation information, and post-processing designation information. When the post-processing designation information designates selection of the specific post processing and predetermined conditions including a condition that a paper type of second paper set by the paper-type setting section coincides with any one of the plurality of paper types stored in the storing section are satisfied, the control executing section controls the printing unit and the post-processing unit according to the paper feeding section designation information and the post-processing designation information irrespective of designation by the paper type designation information.

Image forming apparatus with sub-scanning-direction reference position

A mask processor sets a mask area based on a shape of a print sheet read by an image sensor, masks an outer peripheral portion of a print image using the mask area, and causes a print engine to form a mask-processed print image. The mask processor (a) identifies a pixel in which the print sheet is detected in a line image obtained from an output of the image sensor, (b) detects a sub-scanning-direction reference position corresponding to an edge of the print sheet based on the number of pixels in which the print sheet is detected, and (c) sets a linear edge of the mask area at a line spaced apart by a specific number of offset lines from a line where the sub-scanning-direction reference position is detected toward a center of the print sheet.

Digital printing device comprising means for adjustment of the printed image to the fabric colors
11842233 · 2023-12-12 · ·

A textile printing system for digital printing of colored images onto typically colored fabrics, digitally using print nozzles or other digital means, the nozzles printing print pixels onto the fabrics. The system comprises a print file defining pixel colors for the individual printing pixels; and a deletion unit which deletes print pixels from the print file wherever a respective pixel color is within a threshold distance of the fabric color. The textile printer then prints the print pixels onto the fabric to form a colored image without printing any of the deleted pixels.

A printing apparatus for printing on a front surface of a printing medium, and thereafter printing on a back surface of the printing medium. The apparatus includes the following elements: a front surface print head for printing a cue mark, and printing a front surface image based on front surface image data with reference to the cue mark; a back surface image data corrector for creating corrected back surface image data based on elasticity information in a transport direction after printing of the front surface image; a detector for detecting the cue mark; and a back surface print head for printing the corrected back surface image data on the back surface of the printing medium with reference to the cue mark detected by the detector.

Methods and systems for handling printing of large-size objects

Described herein are methods and devices for printing a large-size object on multiple sheets. The method includes receiving, at a printing device, a print job submitted by a user, wherein the print job includes a large-size object. The large-size object present in the print job is processed by the printing device to ascertain the number and sizes of sheets required for printing the large-size object. Then, the large-size object is printed by the printing device on multiple sheets based on the ascertainment.

Two-sided multi-lane print for independent print streams

A printing device may include a processor to receive data describing a plurality of independent print streams comprising an image; for each of the plurality of independent print streams, emulate a first frame-less press using gapless frames on a first side of a medium upon execution of a framing module wherein each of the images of the independent print streams comprise an emulated spitgap; for each of the plurality of independent print streams, emulating a second frame-less press using gapless frames on a second side of the medium with the framing module, wherein an emulated spitgap associated with each of the images of the second side of the medium is to be geometrically adjusted to match a position on the medium of an image on the first side of the medium.

IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

An image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit and a control unit. The image forming unit is configured to print an image at an edge portion of a recording medium. The control unit is configured to generate a two-dimensional code image encoding information from a print job, divide the two-dimensional code image into a plurality of divided code images, and then control the image forming unit to print each divided code image at an end portion of a recording medium such that a two-dimensional code can be formed when a plurality of recording media are stacked after printing. The two-dimensional code encodes, for example, information related a document formed by the stacked the recording media.
