METHOD OF PRINTING AN OBJECT HAVING A SURFACE OF VARYING HEIGHT
A printing system and method of printing a digital image resulting in an elevated print on a support. The elevated print has a surface of varying height. The printing system is configured to print a number of pass images on top of each other in a number of passes. The definition of the digital image comprises color data for each pixel of the digital image and height data for indicating a height of each pixel of the digital image. A raster image processor is connected to the printing system and rasterizes the digital image into a raster image. A digital slicer is connected to the printing system and derives from the raster image a number of pass images to be printed on top of each other. The printing system is then printing the pass images on top of each other by applying a number of recording materials on the support. The printing system receives information related to the print order of the recording materials in the pass images for each pass pixel for establishing a special effect. From the received information the print order of the recording materials in the pass images for each pass pixel is derived and the recording materials are printed according to this print order for each pass pixel of each pass image.

The print controller is configured to receive at least one digital image intended to be printed on a media piece, to receive position information of the position of the media piece on the media support plane, to display a representation of the media piece in a preview window, to determine a first part of the at least one digital image which fits on the media piece when printed and a second part of the at least one digital image which does not fit on the media piece and will not be printed, and to display a representation the first part as an at least partial overlay on the presentation of the media piece according to at least one first visual parameter. The print controller is further configured to display a representation of the second part in the preview window according to at least one second visual parameter, which deviates from the at least one first visual parameter.
PRINTING ON A WEB OF A PRINTING SUBSTRATE
Method and apparatus for printing on a printing substrate which is a web which is elongate in a longitudinal direction, wherein frames of a maximum printing format can be printed in a sequence on the web. The printing includes arranging a number of pages on sheets of a given sheet format, wherein the maximum printing format is larger in the longitudinal direction of the web than the sheet format, wherein pages which are adjacent in the longitudinal direction of the web are separate from each in the longitudinal direction of the web, imposing pages of more than one sheet into printing frames which are larger in the longitudinal direction of the web than the sheet format but not larger than the maximum printing format, printing the frames, and grouping the pages from the printed frames to sheets on which the pages are arranged as originally.
Image forming apparatus incorporating information detector
An image forming apparatus includes an information obtainer, a memory, a candidate determining unit, and an image forming device. The information obtainer obtains feature information from the target recording medium. The memory stores at least one set of recording medium information regarding the target recording medium associated with the feature information and at least one set of image forming condition information corresponding to the recording medium information. The recording medium information is identification information. The candidate determining unit determines a candidate recording medium information from the recording medium information stored in the memory based on the feature information of the target recording medium obtained by the information obtainer. The image forming device forms an image on the target recording medium based on the image forming condition information in the memory according to the candidate recording medium information determined by the candidate determining unit.
Printing apparatus having interpreters interpreting print data, printing method, and storage medium
A printing apparatus includes a first interpretation unit configured to generate intermediate data of a page by interpreting print data, a second interpretation unit configured to generate intermediate data of another page by interpreting the print data, and a controller configured to perform, according to a specific print setting command indicating that a specific process is to be performed on all pages, control such that the specific process is performed on all the pages. The controller performs the control if the specific print setting command is included in a specific page.
CONTROL METHOD FOR INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER-READABLE MEDIUM
A control method for an information processing apparatus that displays an edit screen of print data for printing a predetermined page, comprising: displaying, on the edit screen, a print region that includes a binding position indicating a position at which binding is performed using a binding material in the predetermined page and indicates a printable region in the predetermined page; receiving designation of a layout position of an image in the predetermined page; and making a notification if the designation is received so that the image is laid out in a predetermined region including at least a partial region in the print region between the binding position and a side of the print region on a side of the binding position, wherein a printing apparatus executes printing based on the print data edited in the edit screen.
