IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS THAT ACQUIRES FIXED DATA AND PLURALITY OF PIECES OF VARIABLE DATA ACCORDING TO USER'S INSTRUCTION, AND EXECUTES VARIABLE PRINTING

A controller causes a display device, upon receipt of an instruction designating fixed data, to display a fixed image represented by the fixed data; generates, upon receipt of an instruction designating a position for generating a first region in the fixed image, a first position information on a basis of the position designated, and stores the first position information in the storage device; acquires, upon receipt of an instruction designating a plurality of pieces of variable data, the plurality of pieces of variable data through a data input device; and causes an image forming device to form on a recording medium an image, in which a variable image represented by the variable data is inserted as replacement in the first region in each page of the fixed image, on a basis of the fixed data, the first position information, and the plurality of pieces of variable data acquired.

According to examples, a method comprises receiving, at a processor, print job data relating to a print job to be performed by a print apparatus, the print job data defining order in which a plurality of colour separation images are to be transferred onto an imaging surface of the print apparatus. The method may comprise determining, based on the print job data, a number of null segments to be inserted into the print job and a location at which each null segment is to be inserted amongst the plurality of colour separation images. A print apparatus and a machine-readable machine are also disclosed.

A printing system receives a graphic document having a security area. The graphic document identifies a secure color to print in the security area. The graphic document is converted for printing by a printing engine of the printing system. This converting substitutes a secure patterned color in place of the secure color. The specific printing engine prints the printing bitmap to output a printed version of the graphic document with the secure patterned color in the security area. The security area of the printed version of the graphic document has a color appearance, and the secure color does not identify the type of security feature within the secure patterned color.

Rendering and outputting non-standard colorant

A system for rendering and outputting a non-standard colorant comprises a print driver for accepting identification of a document for output via a print operation, accepting identification of overlay data for use in the print operation, converting the overlay data into grayscale data, and generating a page description language document including data from the document divided into standard colorspace channels and an overlay colorspace channel, the overlay channels made up of the grayscale data and identified by a colorspace keyword; and a multifunction peripheral device for rendering the standard channels in standard buffers as directed by the page description language document, identifying the overlay channels using the color name keyword within the page description language document, rendering the overlay channel in an overlay buffer, and completing the print operation by outputting the contents of the standard buffers using standard colorants and the overlay buffer using an overlay colorant.
