ELECTRONIC TAG AND SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SECURING ELECTRONIC TAG
A system for operating an electronic tag includes a reader and an operation device. The electronic tag is coupled to an object and stores a variable state code and a variable physical parameter code. The variable state code represents a variable state of the object. The variable physical parameter code represents a variable physical parameter associated with the object. Under a condition that the variable physical parameter is substantially equal to a specific physical parameter, the operation device makes a logical decision on whether the variable state code is currently equal to a first specific state code representing a first specific state. Under a condition that the logical decision is true, the operation device changes the variable state code to a second specific state code representing a second specific state, and assigns a specific physical parameter code representing the specific physical parameter to the variable physical parameter code.
Dynamic transaction card for visual impairment and methods thereof
A dynamic transaction card that includes a number of layers, each of which may be interconnected to one another. For example, a dynamic transaction card may include an outer layer, a potting layer, a touch sensor layer, a display layer (including, for example, LEDs, a dot matrix display, and the like), a microcontroller storing firmware, Java applets, Java applet integration, and the like, an EMV chip, an energy storage component, one or more antenna (e.g., Bluetooth antenna, NFC antenna, and the like), a power management component, a flexible printed circuit board (PCB), a chassis, and/or a card backing layer. The card includes a secure element to receive visual impairment settings and alert data. A microprocessor can convert the alert data into impairment data based on the visual impairment settings. A display is generated based on the impairment data.
Thermal diffusion coefficient measuring device, and deep-body thermometer, deep-body temperature measuring device, and deep-body temperature measuring method using same
In order to enable the measurement of thermal property information about a subject, this thermal diffusion coefficient measuring device, which is used by contacting the surface of a living body, is provided with: a biological information sensor comprising a temperature sensor and a heat flux sensor; and a heating/cooling control means. The temperature sensor is provided at a position contacting the surface of the living body, and operates so as to detect skin temperature. The heat flux sensor is provided at a position contacting the surface of the living body, while being adjacent to the temperature sensor, and operates so as to detect heat flux on the surface of the living body. The heating/cooling control means enables the measurement of the temperature diffusion coefficient of a thermal resistance component that is present between the biological information sensor and a deep inner portion of the living body.
DUAL INTERFACE METALLIC TRANSACTION CARDS AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME
A dual interface transaction card for contact and contactless transactions including an anodized top metal layer. The arrangement of layers allowing for high conductivity metals such as aluminum to be used without compromising the contactless function of the card.
Footwear component manufacturing methods
Physical foaming a footwear component with a single-phase solution of a polymeric composition and a supercritical fluid is provided. The method include temperature conditioning a mold and then engaging the mold with a robot that conveys the mold to a press. At the press a gas counter pressure is applied to a cavity of the mold before injecting a single-phase solution of a polymeric composition and a supercritical fluid into the cavity of the mold. The process continues with releasing the gas counter pressure from the cavity of the mold and then removing the footwear component from the cavity of the mold. The parameters of the method are configured for the formation of the footwear component in an automated manner.
Durable dual interface metal transaction cards
Apparatus and method for producing contact, contactless and dual-interface metal transaction cards that provides enhanced durability and aesthetics, with increased production efficiency. The cards may include (i) a metal core subassembly comprising a metal layer or layers (metal inlay) having a slit (S) allowing for contactless functionality, and (ii) a UV hard coat on a release-carrier layer disposed on one or both sides of the metal core subassembly, and (iii) everything may be laminated together in a single step, providing a metal face smartcard. The hard coat provides a durable, scratch-resistant surface, and protects underlying layers while allowing the passage of a laser beam to write on or within the underlying layer(s), such as a transparent laser-reactive layer. Techniques for hiding or camouflaging the slit provide a more aesthetically pleasing appearance to the metal transaction card.
WIRELESS POWER SUPPLY DEVICE AND METHOD APPLIED TO ELECTRONIC LOCK
A wireless power supply device and method applied to an electronic lock is implemented between a power supply unit and a power receiving unit. The power supply unit is connected to an external power source and has a first radio frequency coil and a first wireless communication module. The power receiving unit is connected to an electronic lock and has a second radio frequency coil and a second wireless communication module. When the power supply unit wirelessly transmits the power provided by the external power source to the power receiving unit, the power receiving unit and the power supply unit perform a handshaking process to confirm whether they are paired objects, if yes, the power is allowed to be transmitted to the electronic lock, so that the security of wireless power supply can be improved.
Stacked disk item storage and retrieval system with optimized item positioning and item data control
This disclosure includes an item storage and retrieval device comprising one or more stacked circular disks, each disk having a slot on its radius to the center and rotating on a central column such that, when slots on higher disks are aligned, a target disk may be accessed below for item storage or retrieval; which device may further comprise a disk item access unit for placement, orientation, and retrieval; which device may further comprise one or more RFID readers; and which device may further comprise a system and interface for managing and optimizing item storage to and retrieval from stacked circular disks.
EMBEDDED ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT IN GRINDING WHEELS AND METHODS OF EMBEDDING
A bonded abrasive wheel is disclosed comprising a plurality of abrasive particles disposed in a binder, a first grinding surface, a second surface opposing the first grinding surface, and an outer circumference. The wheel comprises a rotational axis extending through a central hub and a circuit configured as a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) unit coupled to the abrasive wheel. The circuit comprises an antenna configured to communicate with one or more external devices and comprising a first end and a second end, wherein antenna has a radius of curvature about an axis along at least a portion thereof such that the first end is disposed adjacent to but is spaced from the second end, and an integrated circuit (IC) operably coupled to the antenna and configured to store at least a first data.
Configuring a set of applets on a battery-less transaction card
A transaction card may power on the transaction card using electric current induced from an interaction of the transaction card with an electromagnetic field. The transaction card may establish a communication with a device. The communication may indicate that the transaction card has powered. The transaction card may receive, from the device, a set of instructions to configure a set of applets on the transaction card after notifying the device that the transaction card has powered on. The set of applets to be configured may be related to completing one or more different transactions. The set of applets to be configured may be different than another set of applets already configured on the transaction card. The transaction card may configure the set of applets on the transaction card according to the set of instructions after receiving the set of instructions.
