An apparatus for transporting a patient. The apparatus includes a supporting portion to grasp part of the body of a patient. A footboard unit is provided upon which the patient is able to stand when supported by the supporting portion, the footboard unit movable along a floor by movable means. A frame is connected between the footboard unit and the supporting portion. The apparatus is configured so that the footboard unit is able to move in proximity to a bed upon which the patient is lying, whereat the supporting portion can grasp the part of the body of the patient, wherein the frame and the supporting portion are able to support the patient in transitioning from a lying position on the bed to a standing position adjacent the bed as the footboard unit is moved relative to the bed.

The invention discloses a care bed including a bed frame and a wheelchair. A head panel, a tail panel, a foldable first lateral connecting portion and a second lateral connecting portion of the bed frame constitute an accommodating space of the bed frame. The bed frame has a notch formed at the folded first lateral connecting portion. The wheelchair is moved by the carriage base into the accommodating space through the notch. The backrest, the first armrest, the second armrest, the leg-rest and the footrest of the wheelchair are regulated into a co-plane with the seat to constitute a mattress. The mattress fits the accommodating space of the bed frame.

A robot according to an embodiment may include at least one driving motor for providing a driving force for driving of the robot, a position detector including at least one sensor or receiver for detecting a position of the robot, a pressure detector including at least one sensor for detecting whether a user who in on board the robot gets off the robot and a processor for detecting the position of the robot through the position detector, recognizing that the user has arrived at the destination when it is detected that the user gets off the robot and recognize that the user has not arrived at the destination when it is not detected that the user gets off the robot.

A transport chair of this disclosure includes a frame having a pair of fixed sides and hinged sides, the frame moveable between stowed and deployed states. The frame includes wheel receiving means and armrest and push handle assemblies receiving means with quick connect-disconnect clamps or pins. A bar, which is connectable to, and detachable from, each hinge extends between the pair of hinged sides. When connected to the hinged sides, the bar locks the frame in the deployed state and prevents the frame from moving to the stowed state. The chair may be quickly assembled and then dissembled for storage without the need for tools. When dissembled, the transport chair fits within an within an envelope 9 inches deep×14 inches wide×22 inches long.

The second post and the third post are positioned to receive a portion of an arm of the user. The selector is spaced apart from the first post and positioned such that the selector is actuatable with a dorsum of the hand of the user.
