Vehicle tracking system using transponders
An RFID transponder including a Bluetooth compatible transceiver is described as a (BLEET). The Bluetooth® compatible transceiver may be configured to set data that is transmitted via one or more RFID transceivers in the transponder and to return data received by the RFID transceiver(s) to a client application running, for example, on a user's smart phone. The BLEET may be used for electronic vehicle tracking or tolling. Vehicle occupancy data may be set by the user with the client application via a Bluetooth® connection in connection with high occupancy vehicle tolling and express lane incentive programs.
Force sensor integrated on substrate
A Internet of Things (IoT) tag for measuring transmitted force applied on the IoT tag, including a substrate, a force sensor integrated on the substrate, and a sensing circuit integrated on the substrate and configured to output a digital word measurement in response to an applied force on the force sensor.
Conduit with radio frequency identification (RFID) enabled sensor
A system for sensing a physical property of a medium inside a conduit includes a radio frequency identification (RFID) reader arranged to transmit electromagnetic signals in at least one radio frequency. An RFID tag receives the least one radio frequency and exchanges the received radio frequency to electrical energy powering the RFID tag. An included sensor electrically connected to the RFID tag receives the electrical energy from the RFID tag and powers the sensor to obtain measurement data of at least one physical property of the medium and transmit the measurement data to the RFID tag. The RFID tag transmits the measurement data to the RFID reader using the at least one radio frequency.
Multi-function smart tokenizing electronic payment device
An embodiment includes a multi-function electronic device capable of generating a programmed magnetic field of alternating polarity based on a speed of a card swipe, and methods for constructing the device for the purpose of emulating a standard credit card. An apparatus is described to allow the device to emulate behavior of a credit card when used in electronic credit card readers. Additionally, methods are described to allow user control of the device for the purpose of authorizing or controlling use of the device in the application of credit, debit and cash transactions, including cryptocurrency and device-to-device transactions. Methods are also described for generating a limited-duration payment number when performing a transaction for the purpose of creating a limited-use payment number, which is limited in scope of use to a predetermined number of authorized transactions. Furthermore the device may interact with other similar devices in proximity for the purpose of funds or credit/debit transfers.
Reusable seal and vehicle comprising a reusable seal
A reusable seal including an antenna, an opening sensor to sense the opening of a volume to be monitored and an electronic device coupled to the antenna and configured to communicate with a reader via the antenna. The electronic device is supplied with power only by the antenna when a reader is proximate to the antenna. The seal has a memory that may assume an active state or an inactive state. The seal is configured such that the memory may be activated only by the electronic device when the device is supplied with power to store an intact seal state in the memory, and the memory may be deactivated at any time when the opening sensor is actuated to store a non-intact seal state in the memory. The seal is configured to respond to a request from a reader regarding its state according to the memory state.
Tag system with a modulator of an antenna modulator and methods of use
Systems and methods for operating a tag system. The methods comprising: emitting a wireless signal from an antenna of the tag with a first signal characteristic when the tag is proximate to an active antenna modulation marker; changing an impedance of a sensor from a first impedance value to a second impedance value when the active antenna modulation marker is exposed to a stimulus; and emitting a wireless signal from the antenna of the tag with a second signal characteristic when the tag is proximate to the active antenna modulation marker and the sensor has the second impedance value.
Wireless Mechanism For Detecting an Open or Closed Container, and Methods of Making and Using the Same
An electronic device including a continuity sensor and electrical circuitry configured to detect and report the continuity state of an article, container or product packaging is disclosed. The continuity sensor includes a first substrate with first and second coils thereon, and a second substrate with a third coil thereon. The first coil has an integrated circuit electrically connected thereto. The first substrate is part of, or is attached or secured to a part of the article, container or packaging. The second substrate is another part of, or is attached or secured to another part of the article, container or packaging. One of the article, container or packaging parts is (re)movable with respect to the other part. The first and second coils have one coupling when the article, container or packaging is closed or sealed, and a different coupling when the article, container or packaging is open or unsealed.
Conformal electronics integrated with apparel
A system is provided for integrating conformal electronics devices into apparel. The system includes a flexible substrate onto which a flexible device is disposed. The flexible device can include a stretchable coil that can be used to receive and transmit near field communications. The flexible device also includes an integrated circuit component and a memory unit. In some examples, the device also includes a sensor that is configured to record measurement of the wearer of the apparel and/or the surrounding environment.
Electronic apparatus and method of controlling the same
Disclosed are an electronic apparatus and a method of controlling the same. With this, an integrated circuit (IC) chip provided in a card is recognized by identifying whether or not a signal is received from the card, optical character recognition is performed with regard to an image corresponding to the card, at least one of unevenness present on the card and material characteristics of the card is detected by performing image processing with regard to the image when the IC chip is not recognized, the card is identified as a real card in a case where the IC chip is recognized, and the card is identified as the real card when the unevenness is present on the card or the material characteristics are about the real card and the card is identified as a copy card when the unevenness is not present on the card and the material characteristics are not about the real card in a case where the IC chip is not recognized, under a condition that the card is provided to make payment based on the optical character recognition.
RF MODULE AND RF SYSTEM
An RF system is provided that includes an RFID card and a reader-writer device. The RFID card includes a substrate, an RFIC element, an antenna coil, and a deformation sensor. The reader-writer device and the RFID card transmit and receive predetermined information between an antenna coil of the RFID card and an antenna coil of the reader-writer device through a magnetic field. The RFIC element transmits the first signal via the antenna coil when the deformation sensor does not detect bending deformation of the substrate, and the RFIC element transmits the second signal via the antenna coil when the deformation sensor detects the bending deformation of the substrate.
