A METHOD FOR AMENDING A FINGERPRINT TEMPLATE OF A SMART CARD

The present disclosure relates to a method of amending a fingerprint template for a user of a smart card, where the user of the smart card is progressively enrolling based on comparison and/or using a separate credential such as a PIN code. The present disclosure also relates to a corresponding smart card and to a computer program product.

System and Method for Verifying Authenticity of Physical Goods
20220398601 · 2022-12-15 ·

A system for verifying the authenticity of physical goods uses an NFC tag embedded in the product. An NFC reader positioned within range of the tag reads a unique identification number from the tag. The unique identification number may be used to generate an authentication code. During production, the manufacturer generates a blockchain record as a function of the authentication code. The blockchain record includes at least one additional identifier corresponding to the manufacturer. A consumer uses a mobile device to read the NFC tag and obtains the authentication code as a function of the unique identification number. Having the authentication code, the mobile device accesses the record in the blockchain and obtains the identifier corresponding to the manufacturer. Based upon scanning the NFC tag, the consumer is thereby able to obtain an identifier of the manufacturer to ensure authenticity of the product being purchased.

Secured document and associated system and method for securing documents

For protecting confidential information in a printed document, the invention provides a system and method for, on one hand, encrypting the confidential content of the document and then printing the part or parts of the document with confidential information in an encrypted form and the rest of the document in a non-encrypted form, and, on the other hand, decrypting the encrypted document content for display and use or for printing. In addition, for preventing unauthorized copying and tampering of a printed document, the invention provides a system and method for managing a unique tag, which is attached to the document and which authenticates the document.

RFID-enabled electrical connector

The present invention is an RFID-enabled electrical connector with connector position assurance (“CPA”) features. The RFID tag is only readable after the CPA features have been fully deployed. The electrical connector is comprised of at least two parts, a socket and a plug. In the illustrated embodiment, a connector housing is positioned between the socket and plug, with both the socket and plug connecting to the connector housing. Until the CPA feature has been fully deployed, the RFID tag is covered by an electrically conductive material, preferably an electrically conductive plastic. The RFID tag can only be properly read after the CPA feature has been fully deployed. To prevent signal leakage, the RFID tag can alternately be placed inside a five-sided box fabricated from electrically conductive material, preferably electrically conductive plastic.

IC CARD AND IC CARD SYSTEM

An IC card communicates with a reader/writer, which is inductive read/write communication equipment, in a non-contact manner. The IC card includes a proximity detection circuit that detects a proximity state to the reader/writer, a near-field communication circuit, an electronic function circuit, an electricity storage device, and a power supply control circuit. The power supply control circuit controls, based on a detection result of the proximity detection circuit, power supply from the electricity storage device to the electronic function circuit. The IC card manages and controls presence/absence and timing of power supply from the electricity storage device to the electronic function circuit and effectively controls discharging of the electricity storage device and charging of the electricity storage device.

RFID TAG LIMITER

A Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tag is disclosed. The RFID tag includes an antenna port to receive an input AC signal and a hybrid limiter including a clamping device configured to limit a voltage of the input AC signal to a preconfigured limit. The hybrid limiter is configured to provide a stable ground reference for the clamping device.

Usage, condition and location tag and system

A Usage, Condition and Location System (UCLS) tag is provided, which is an active RFID tag that, in addition to location, is configured to determine the usage state and operating condition of a device. The UCLS tag includes sensors that measure physical activity of the associated equipment (vibration, magnetic activity, temperature, etc.). Algorithms may use the information obtained from the UCLS tags to map the measured sensor data to a contextual usage state and operating condition of the device.

RFID ICS WITH PRIVACY MODES

RFID tag ICs may be configured with privacy modes. When a tag IC is in a privacy mode, it will not respond to commands unless a previous command includes correct verification information or specifies a recycling indicator of the tag IC. If the previous command includes correct verification information, then the tag IC will respond to one or more subsequent commands as normal, for example by responding with one or more identifiers. If the previous command does not include correct verification information but specifies a recycling indicator and the privacy mode is recycling-enabled, the tag IC may respond to one or more subsequent commands with recycling information. The recycling information identifies whether or how an item associated with the RFID IC can be recycled or disposed but does not otherwise identify the RFID IC or item. Otherwise, the tag IC may remain silent.

ELECTRONIC CARD WITH ELECTRONIC FUNCTION CIRCUIT

An electronic card with biometric authentication function includes a communication antenna for short-range wireless communication, a wireless communication IC, a receiving coil, a resonant capacitor, a rectifying and smoothing circuit, a biometric sensor, and a biometric authentication circuit. The communication antenna and the receiving coil respond to a magnetic field in the same frequency band for the short-range wireless communication. The wireless communication IC performs short-range wireless communication. The receiving coil receives power from the magnetic field in the same frequency band for the short-range wireless communication. The biometric authentication circuit causes the biometric sensor to operate by using the power received from the receiving resonant circuit. The communication antenna and the receiving coil share electromagnetic field energy resonating in the same frequency band for the short-range wireless communication, the electromagnetic field energy being shared because of magnetic coupling between the communication antenna and the receiving coil.
