Mattress support for adding hospital bed modular control system for upgrading a bed to include movable components
A modular system is usable to vary the conditions around a bed in a home to provide various levels of support for patients who are at home and have varying acuity of medical complications. The modular system allows the home bed to be temporarily adapted for medical care.
Patient transport apparatus with controllable auxiliary wheel assembly
A patient transport apparatus for transporting a patient over a surface. The patient transport apparatus has support wheels coupled to a base and swivelable about swivel axes. An auxiliary wheel assembly is coupled to the base and includes an auxiliary wheel configured to move between a plurality of wheel positions, and an actuator operably coupled to the auxiliary wheel to move the auxiliary wheel between the plurality of wheel positions. A sensing system with a sensor is provided to detect a motion condition of the patient transport apparatus. A controller is coupled to the sensing system and to the actuator, and is configured to drive the actuator to move the auxiliary wheel between the plurality of wheel positions based on the motion condition of the patient transport apparatus.
Patient support apparatus with load cell assemblies
A patient support apparatus comprising a patient support deck and a base to support the patient support deck from a ground surface, with a first frame assembly comprising a plurality of wheels to facilitate movement of the base, and a second frame assembly with one or more lift arms coupling the base to the second frame assembly. A load cell assembly to sense weight applied to the first frame assembly by the second frame assembly comprises a load cell support assembly coupled to the first frame assembly, and a load cell element coupled to the second frame assembly and mounted onto the load cell support assembly such that the second frame assembly is movable with respect to the first frame assembly along two axes of translation and is pivotable with respect to the first frame assembly about three axes of rotation.
SYSTEM FOR PREVENTING FALLS FROM A BED
System for preventing a patient from falling from a bed, the system comprising first and second protective side barriers adapted to be positioned along first and second side edges of the bed, respectively, and are configured to be lifted or lowered by varying the height thereof from minimum to maximum height. The system includes anchoring means for fixing the protective side barriers to a bed frame, sensors adapted to detect the position taken by the patient on a mattress of the bed, and a control unit configured to receive data collected by the sensors and, on the basis of the data, determine in real time a lifting or lowering of a predetermined extent of the protective side barriers, up to heights of the protective side barriers ranging between the minimum and the maximum height, depending on the position taken by the patient on the mattress.
Bed Assist Bar and Method of Manufacturing the Same
A bed assist bar includes an undercarriage and a mid-frame attached to the undercarriage. A handle bar is selectively pivotable, using a twist-lock mechanism sub-assembly, between a first position locking the handle bar in a substantially parallel orientation relative to the mid-frame and a second position locking the handle bar being in a substantially orthogonal orientation relative to the mid-frame.

SYSTEM FOR MANAGING PATIENT SUPPORT APPARATUSES AND BED SORE RISKS
A caregiver assistance system is disclosed for helping caregivers manage the care of existing bed sores and/or reduce the risk of a patient developing bed sores. The system may also help the caregiver to perform rounding tasks and/or to reduce the likelihood of patient falls. The system comprises a server application in communication with the patient's bed and one or more mobile electronic devices (e.g. smart phones). The mobile devices receive individual assessments of a plurality of bed sore risk factors and forward them to the server. The server generates bed sore risk scores from the answers and forward them to an EMR server. The server may also determine one or more risk reduction steps, display them on the mobile electronic device, and/or forward them to the patients' beds for implementation thereon. Additional bed sore information may be captured and sent to the EMR.
HEIGHT ADJUSTABLE BABY CRIB ARRANGED WITH A BLOCKABLE CRADLE FUNCTION
The present invention relates to a height adjustable baby crib (2) comprising a tube stand (13) with a suspension device (8) for rockable suspension of the baby crib (2), bed bottom (4), head boards (9), bed sides (4), and an arrangement for mechanical height adjusting of the baby crib (2) in the tube stand (13) with the aid of telescopic pair-controlled gas springs (5,7) that can be exercised by a foot pedal (6). The baby crib (2) is so constructed that it could also be used as a cradle.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MONITORING AND CONTROLLING BED FUNCTIONS
A method and system for patient monitoring, the system comprising a surveillance camera configured to generate a plurality of frames showing an area in which a patient in a bed is being monitored, and a computer system comprising memory and logic circuitry configured to determine bed rails positions of the bed, identify a position of the patient, and generate signals that control the bed rails of a bed based on the bed rails positions and the position of the patient.
Mattress support for adding hospital bed functionality to an in-home bed
A mattress support includes a base plate configured to be positioned on a box spring of a bed. A bladder may be coupled to a top surface of the base plate. A top plate is coupled to a top surface of the bladder. A top surface of the top plate is configured to support a mattress. The bladder is inflatable to adjust a height of the top plate.
