System for predicting egress from an occupant support
A system for predicting exit from an occupant support, includes a processor, a memory in communication with the processor, and a frame having at least one force sensor which outputs a force signal in response to force exerted thereon. The system also includes machine readable instructions stored in the memory which cause the system to perform at least the following actions when executed by the processor: 1) determine a property of the signal during an interval of time, 2) classify the property as suggesting an exit event or as not suggesting an exit event, and 3) if the property is classified as suggesting an exit event, generate a notification thereof.
Method of predicting occupant egress from an occupant support based on perimeter panel status and occupant location, and a related apparatus
A method of evaluating the likelihood that an occupant will exit an occupant support comprises determining if the location of the occupant on the occupant support is displaced relative to a reference location, and if the location of the occupant is so displaced, designating that the occupant is at a risk of exiting the occupant support which is elevated relative to the baseline risk. A support apparatus comprises a framework, a mattress, sensors distributed on the support apparatus to sense occupant weight distribution on the support apparatus, and a processor adapted to designate a risk of occupant egress as a function of the direction of the occupant weight distribution and the elevation status of the perimeter panels.
Method and system for assessing compliance with a patient repositioning protocol
A method for assessing compliance with a protocol requiring or advising the use of lift assist equipment for repositioning an occupant of an occupant support includes the steps of: 1) determining a measure of load borne by the occupant support over an interval of time; 2) determining how much the location of the occupant's center of mass relative to the occupant support has changed during the interval of time; and 3) assessing compliance with the protocol as a function of the load measure, the change of location, and a measure of the occupant's weight.
In one embodiment the load measure is an integral of load over an interval of time. An apparatus for carrying out the method comprises a processor and instructions which are executable by the processor.
Apparatus Providing Extension of a Surgical Table Width Allowing Adaptation to the Parameters of the Specific Patient
A surgical table with independently extendable or foldable side extension platforms (side rails) allowing accommodation of patients with variable physical characteristics. Said surgical table side extension platforms may be operated manually or by electrical or pneumatic actuators and may be controlled by a local or a remote (wireline or wireless connected) controller.
MOUNTING ASSEMBLY FOR A MAGNETIC FIELD GENERATOR
The present disclosure provides a mounting assembly for attaching medical equipment to a patient table. In one particular embodiment, the present disclosure provides a mounting assembly for attaching a magnetic field generator to a patient table. The mounting assembly allows for the secure attachment of the magnetic field generator to the patient table while also allowing for easy adjustment of the positioning and location of the magnetic field generator, even after the patient is on the table. In many embodiments the mounting assembly is comprised of a mounting apparatus that attaches directly to the patient table and first and second side rails that attach to the magnetic field generator and are configured to slidably attach to the mounting apparatus. In some embodiments, the mounting apparatus and side rails are constructed of a material that provides little or no interference with the magnetic field generator.
Bed rail that tucks under mattress
A bed rail for engagement between a mattress and a box spring and having a base support and a guard frame, with guard frame having a pivot that pivots and slides in the base support. The base support includes a first seat that seats the pivot and a second seat that seats a biased piece sliding axially on a first support member of the guard frame. The first support member extends from a plastic piece that forms a junction from which a second support member and the pivot extend and that nestles up to the second seat.
Bed with a stowable siderail
A bed comprises a frame and a siderail assembly. The siderail assembly includes a noncollapsible siderail panel having an upper edge and a lower edge, a guide rail affixed to the panel and having an extension which extends past the lower edge of the panel, and a link rotatably mounted on the frame. The link is configured to receive the extension so that the link grips the extension but also permits translation of the guide rail relative to the link.
